As the charity's trustees you are responsible forthe preparation of the financial Statements In accordance
with the requirements of the Chartties Act 2011 Ilhe Aci,).
I reF￿rt in respect of my exarnlnation of the charws finandal ststements carried out undef section 145 of
the 2011 Art and in carrying out my examination I have fdlowed all the applicable Directions given by the
Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the

As the tharlty's gross income exceeded £250.m) your examiner must be a member of a body listed in
section 145 of the 2011 Act. I confirni that l am qualified to undertske the examination by being a quallfied
member of The Institute of Financial Accountarrts.
I have completed my examlnatoon. I can confirni that no material matters have come to my attention in
connertion with the examination bTving me cause to believe that In ary material respect:
the accounting records were not kept in respert of the charty as required by section 130 of the Act; or
the financial sLitements do not accord with those records; or
the financial statements do not Comply wtth the applicable requirements concerning the form and
content of financial statemerrts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other
than any requirement that the financial ststements 8ive a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter
considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to whith

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Ststement of Recommended Practice..
Accountln8 and Reporting by Charfties preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic if Ireland IFRS 1021 issued on 16 July 2014 and the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the
Charities Art 2011.

Recognition of
expenditure
Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis. Expendlture includes any VAT which
cannot be fully recovered. and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it
relates.
Expenditure on
These comprise the costs assouated with attractin8 voluntary income. fundraising

trading costs and Investment management costs.
Expenditure on
These comprise the costs incurred by the Chartty in the delivery of its activities and
charitsble activities services in the furtherance of tts objects, including the making of 8rarrts and
governance costs.
All grant expendtture is accounted for on an artual paid basts plus an accrual for
grants that have been approved bythe trustees at the end of the year but not yet
paid.

requirements of the Charity. includin8 any audivindependent examination fees.

Investment properties are measured initially at cost and subsequentfy at fair Wdlue at each balance sheet
date and are not depreuated. All gains or losses are taken to the Statement of Financial ArtNlties as they
arise.
Stocks
Stock is induded at the lowerof cost or net realisable value. Donated ttems of stock are recognised at falr
value which is the amount the tharity would have been willing to payforthe items on the open market.
Trade and other debtors
Trade and other debtors are recognised at the settlement amount due after any trade discount offered.
Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net of any trdde discounts due.
Cash and cash equl¥alerbts
Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash at bank and on hand, demand deposits wtth banks and other
short-term highly liquid investments wtth oriynal maturities of three months or less and bank overdrafts.
In the statement of financial position, bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings or current liabilities.
In the Statement of Cash Flows. cash and cash equivalents are shovffl net of bank overdrafts that are
repayable on demand and fonn an integrdl part of the companvs cash management.

Trade and other creditors
Short term creditors are measured * the transaction price. Other credttors and provislons are recognised
where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a past event that wlll probably result in the
transfer of funds to a third party and the amount due to settle the obligation can be measured or
estimated reliably. Creditors and provisi0r￿ are nomially recognised at their settlement amount after
allowing for any trade discourts due.
ReSe4￿h and devel¢Jpment
Expenditure on research and development is written off in the year in whith it is incuThed.
Forelin currendes
Monetary assets and liabilities denominated in currenaes other than the funttional currency of the
charity are translated at the rates of exchange prevailing atthe end of the reporting period.
Transactions in turrencles other than the functional currenty of the charlty are recorded at the rate of
exchange on the date that the transaction occurred.
All exchange differences are are tsken into account in arriving at net incomelexpenditure.
Leased assets
Where the charity errters into a lease which entsils taknng substantially all the rlsks and rewards of
ownership of an asset. the lease is treated as a finance lease.
Leases which do not transFer substantially all the risks and rewards of ownership to chartty are classified
as operating leases.
Assets held under finance leases are Initial￿ recognised as assets of the charity at their fairvalue at the
inception of the lease or. if lower. at the present value of the minimum lease payments. The
corresponding liability to the lessor is induded in the balance sheet date as a finance lease obligation.
Lease payments are apportioned be￿een fInafi￿ eypenses and reduction of the lease obligation 50 as to
achleve a constant rate of interest on the remaining balance of the liability. Finance expenses are
recognised irnmediately. unless they are direcdy attn"butable to qualifying assets, in whlch case they are
capitalised in accordance with the chartty's policy on borrowing costs.
Assets held under finance leases are depreciated in the same way as owned assets.
Operating lease payments are recognised as an expense on a strdight-line basis over the lease term.
In the event that lease incentives are received to errter into operating leases. such incentives are
recognised as a liability. The aggregate benefrt of incenthes is recognised as a reductlon of rental
expense on a straight-line basls.
Pension costs
The charity operates a defined contribution plan for its employees. A defined contribLrtion plan Is
pension plan under which the charrty pays fixed contributions into a separate entity. Once the
contributions have been paid the chartty has no further payments obligation5. The contributions are
recognised as expenses when they fall due. Arnounts not paid are shown in accruals in the balance sheet.
The assets of the plan are held separately from the charity in independently administered funds.

All donated goods, facilitles and serwces received are recognised wtthin incoming resources and
expenditure at an estimate of the value to the charity.
