## **Structure, governance and management**
The management committee meets quarterly to discuss the ongoing operations of the club.
Trustees at the financial year end were: Keith Hunt (Chair) Catherine Pinchen (Secretary) Marc Morley-Freer (Treasurer) Tom Coghill (Welfare)
Other committee members during the financial year were: Adam Tanner (Head coach) since replaced by Hilary Logan Howard Kee, Cath Tynan and Lauren Porter (Juniors) Ian Wood and Mark Hayes (Membership) Johnny Smit (Kit) Michelle Witheriff (Social and box hire) Sophie Johnson (Club development) Tao Baker (Comms)
## **Aim and Purpose**
Greenwich Tritons is an accessible grassroots community triathlon club, based in Greenwich, SE London, with emphasis on participation, friendship and fun. We welcome members of all levels of ability. We aim to help all our members achieve their individual triathlon goals in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Our Junior Club aims to give children a taste of triathlon, support their progress in the sport, and provide them with a safe and encouraging environment in which to train and compete.
## **Activities**
We run a number of weekly training activities for our members, to suit all abilities; swim training, run training and cycle training, including group rides. We arrange for club kit to be available at cost to our members and have a small number of bike boxes available for hire.
To encourage a greater sense of community across our members, we run a number of social events, including our annual awards dinner. We also identify a middle distance event (alternating UK and overseas) which we attend as a club.
Each year we run a junior aquathlon for over 150 children across London and the South East as part of the London Junior Triathlon Series.

## **Achievements and Performance**
We are hugely proud of the performance of all our members, adult and junior, whether starting out in triathlon or competing at the very highest level. Our fantastic coaching team and more experienced members encourage all to reach their personal ambitions through advice and thoughtfully designed training sessions.
In addition to triathlon, our members compete in Cross Country, Cycling Time Trials and a range of running events. This year we attended the IRONMAN 70.3 Knokke-Heist, Belgium as a club and also entered a number of teams into the Duathlon Relay at Gravesend Cyclopark.
Once again we pulled together as a club to run our junior aquathlon with many members competing or volunteering (or in some cases, both). Thanks especially to our junior committee members for leading the organisation of this highly successful event.
## **Financial Review**
This year we have generated a small surplus of £1,693 largely due to an increase in membership numbers. We have also increased the range of training available to our members, including additional swim and track sessions for the adults. However, in some cases we were not able to fully recover costs on these new initiatives. The nature of sessions remain under review and the coaching team will continue to flex as necessary.
We have a positive cash position of over £24,000 at the year end and reserves remain strong at around £38,000, slightly more than compared to last year.
## **Volunteers**
Greenwich Tritons is run mainly by volunteers, with a small number of paid part-time coaches.

Deferred income represents monies received in the year ended 31 October 2024 in respect of the annual awards dinner held in November 2024.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees/members of Greenwich Tritons**
I report on the accounts for the year ended 31 October 2024 which are set out on pages 4 and 5.
## Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
