ObjKts and aims
The aim of the organisation is to support Warwick School. The %hool head provide8
recommendations lo the trustees wlh details of projects that the school would like the Charity lo
support. The unconflicled trustees then consider which of those projects lo support and discuss other
considerations.
Public benefit
The trustees confimi that they have complied with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities Act
2011 to have due regard to tho public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for
England and Wales.

The Charity is governed by a Trust Deed dated 12th September 1948 and was registered with the
Charity Commissioners (No. 11882481 on th8 28th February 2020.
The induction process for a new Trustee is as follows. A Trustee will meet with the new Trustee lo
explain all aspects of the Charrty and to provide all relevant infomalion regarding ((. The Trustees wll
write to the new Trustee wlh a copy of the Trust Deed goveming the Charity and a copy of the last sel
of accounts and Annual Review. The Trustees will a130 provide all ossislance and information
necessary for the new Trustee lo become familiar with the activities of the Charity, including guidance
available from the Charty Commission.

statement of Trustees, Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees, report arbd the financial slatemenl$ in
accordance with the United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice} and applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable lo charities requires the trustees lo prepare financial stalgmenls for each financial
year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources
and application of resc)urcès of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements. the
trustees are required to..

make judgements and eslimales that are reasonable and prudent.,

The Iruslees a￿ responsible for keeping proper accounting re￿rdS that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them lo ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charities (Accounts and Reports} Regulation3
2008, and Ihg provisions of the constitution. The Iruslees are also responsible for safeguarding the
assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud
and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the mainlgnance and integrty of the corporalg and financial
information included on the charitable company's website. Legislation governing the preparation and
dissemination of financial stslements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

Responslbilities and basis of r&port
As the charity Iruslees of wa￿l¢k School Memorial Endowment Fund you are responsible for the
preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 I'lhe Acl'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the wa￿lek School Memorial Endowment Fund's accounts
Carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all
the applicable Directions given by the Charty Commission under section 145ISllbl of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my attention in
connection wf(h the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect..
1. accounting TecoTds were not kept in respect of Warwck School Memorial Endowment Fund as
required by section 130 of the Act,. or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records,. or
3. the acwunls do not comply with the accounting requirements ¢oneeming the fom) and conlenl of
a¢counls set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts gwe a 'true and fair view which is not a matter considered as Part
of an independent examination.

Statem&nt of Complianc
The financial statements have been prepared in a¢cordan¢e wlh the s8cond edition of the Charities
Slalemenl of Recommended Pradice issued in October 2019, the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102) and the Chanties Act 2011.
Basis of preparatlon
Watwick School Memorial Endowment Fund meets the definition of a publ￿ benefit entty under FRS
102. The accounts (financial slatemenlsl have been prepared under the hisloriGal cost convention
with items recognised al ¢osl or transaction value unless otheNise slated in the relevant nole{s} lo
these accounts.
Going concern
The Iruslees considor that there are no material uncertainties about the chartys ability lo continue as
a going concern.
Incom9 and ondowmonts
Investm9nt Income
Interest income is recognised when the amounts are received.
Expendltur&
All expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructNe obligation lo that expenditure, f( is
probable settlement is required and the amount can be measured reliably. All costs are alllxated to
the applicable expondrture heading that aggregate similar costs lo that category.
Grants payable are payments made to WanNick School in the furtherance of the charitable objects of
the Trust. Single or mutti-year grants are accounted for when either the recipient has a reasonable
expectation that they will receive a grant and the trustees have agreed lo pay the grant without
condition, or the recipient has a reasonable expectation that they will rgceive a grant and any
condttion attaching lo the grant is outside of the control of the Trust.
Irrecoverable VAT is charged against the cale90ry of resources expended for which it was incurred.
Governance costs
These include the costs attribLrtable lo the tharity'8 compliance with conslilulional and slalulory
requirements, including audr(, strategic management and Iruslees meetings and reimbursed
expenses.

Taxatlon
The charity is considered to pass the lesls sel out in Paragraph 1 Schedule 6 of the Finance Act 2010
and therefore il meets the delin(tion of a charrtable company for UK corporation tax purposes.
Accordingly, the charity is potentially exempl from laxalion in respect of income or capital gain5
received wrthin categories covered by Chapter 3 Part 11 of the CorporalioD Tax Act 2010 or Section
256 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992, to the extent that such income or gains are
appliecl exclusivety lo charitable PUTposes.
Tangiblo fixed assèts
Tangible fixed assets are slated al cost lor deemed ¢osll or valuation. Cost includes costs directly
attributable lo making the asset Capable of operating as inlet)ded.
Trade debtors
Debtors relate to income accrued and yel lo be received.
Cash and cash 8quivalents
Cash and cash equivalents comprise cash on hand and call deposits, and other short-tern highly
liquid investments that are readily convertible to a known amount of cash and are subject to an
insignificant risk of change in value.
Trade cradltors
Trade Creditors are obligation$ lo pay for goods or 8erviees that have been acquired in the ordinary
course of business from suppliers. Accounts payable are classffied as current liabilities rf the does not
have an unconditional right, at the end of the reporting period, to defer settlement of the creditor for al
least ￿e1ve months after the reporting dale. If there is an unconditional right to defer settlement for al
least ￿1ve months after the reporting dale, they are presented as non-currenl liabilities.
