Executive Summary

In 2025, Simple Reason Charity continued to expand its humanitarian, educational and community work across Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia and other countries. Throughout the year, we successfully implemented 170 charitable projects, directly benefiting 45,397 people. Our work focused on clean water, food aid, emergency relief, healthcare, education, orphan sponsorship, masjid and madrasah support, sanitation and community development.

Mission and Vision

Our mission is to support vulnerable communities by providing essential assistance such as clean water, food, emergency relief, healthcare, education and shelter.We aim to promote compassion, dignity, equality and justice while helping individuals and communities overcome hardship, become self-reliant and build a better future.

Key Achievements

In 2025, Simple Reason Charity completed 170 projects and reached 45,397 direct beneficiaries.Our major achievements included:

94 water projects benefiting 28,193 people

13 food-aid projects benefiting 3,345 people

25 emergency-response projects benefiting 13,272 people

10 cash-grant projects supporting 434 people

6 Maktab programmes 14 dawah and education projects

Support for healthcare, madrasas, masjids, sanitation and orphan education

Water Projects

Clean water remained one of our largest areas of work in 2025. Simple Reason Charity implemented 94 water projects, directly benefiting approximately 28,193 people in Bangladesh, Pakistan and other locations.In Bangladesh, community tube wells were installed in masjids, madrasas, schools and villages. Water facilities were also installed in masjids and villages in Pakistan.

Food Aid

During 2025, Simple Reason Charity implemented 13 food-aid projects, through which approximately 3,345 people received assistance in Bangladesh, Egypt, and other countries.Food packs and iftar meals were distributed during Ramadan. Qurbani meat was provided to vulnerable families during Eid al-Adha, while emergency food supplies were delivered to people affected by disasters, poverty and humanitarian crises.

Emergency Response

Simple Reason Charity responded to urgent humanitarian needs through 25 emergency-response projects, reaching approximately 13,272 people in Bangladesh, Egypt and other countries.Our emergency support included food, clean water, winter clothing and financial assistance. Each emergency project was delivered with compassion, responsibility and a commitment to protecting the dignity of those receiving assistance.

Health Support

Through 12 urgent medical support projects, Simple Reason Charity provided direct financial assistance to 434 people facing poverty, hardship and emergency situations.Although these projects were smaller in number, they provided vital support at moments when individuals and families were facing serious difficulties.

Education and Dawah

In 2025, Simple Reason Charity implemented 14 dawah and education projects.

These projects supported Islamic learning, personal development and the sharing of beneficial knowledge. Our aim was not only to provide material assistance but also to help individuals strengthen their faith, knowledge, confidence and connection with their communities.

Maktab Programmes

Simple Reason Charity successfully operated six Maktab programmes during 2025: five for adult women and one for children.Through these programmes, learners received education in Qur’an recitation, correct prayer and the basic teachings of Islam.

Educating women has a wider impact on entire families. When mothers learn the Qur’an and Islamic teachings, they are better able to pass that knowledge to their children and create a positive Islamic environment in their homes.

Masjid and Madrasah Support

Simple Reason Charity supported Madrasah, Masjid in UK, Bangladesh and other countries. Also initiated the construction of Ar-Rahman Jame Masjid in a remote community in Sunamganj, Bangladesh where residents needed a suitable and peaceful place of worship.These initiatives helped strengthen Islamic education, congregational worship and community life.

BASB Complex

The BASB Complex in Sylhet, Bangladesh continued to serve as an active centre for Islamic education, dawah and community support.Throughout 2025, the centre hosted counselling sessions, weekly nasihah programmes, Islamic classes, scholars’meetings and community activities.The centre provided a welcoming space where individuals and families could receive guidance, strengthen their Islamic knowledge and seek support for personal and social challenges.

Other Initiatives

Alongside our major programmes, Simple Reason Charity continued to explore and support projects relating to livelihood, orphan sponsorship, sanitary support, shelter, and wider community development.These initiatives reflect our commitment to providing both immediate assistance and long-term solutions that help vulnerable people rebuild their lives with dignity.

Future Outlook for 2026

Our goals for 2026 include expanding our work in clean water, education,healthcare, food aid, emergency response, livelihood development, orphan support and dawah.We aim to: Install more community water facilities in areas of greatest need.

Strengthen our emergency-response capacity. Expand Maktab and Islamic education programmes. Support more masjids, madrasas and vulnerable students. Increase healthcare and financial assistance. Develop sustainable livelihood and shelter projects. Strengthen partnerships with local communities and volunteers.

Transparency and accountability will remain central to our work.We will continue providing clear project updates, financial records, photographs and reports to our donors and supporters.

Trustees' responsibilities

The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)

Accounting and Reporting by Charities issued in 2005 in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the Charity.

Legal Status:

Charity: Registered with the Charity Commission, Charity Number: 1188243 Company: Registered with the Companies House, Company number: 11781697

The Charity's objects are

a) To provide financial support among the victims of natural or other kind of disaster.

b)To advance the education of the public by providing grants, donations and services.

Organisation:

A Management Committee, the members of which are the trustees manages the affairs of the charity. The Management Committee manages the business of the charity including the paying of all expenses.

Trustees:

Trustees, who are all members of the executive committee, and who served during the year.

The trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting, for membership of the Executive Committee and serve until the end of the next Annual General Meeting, where they can stand for re- election as members of the new Executive Committee.

Trustees responsibilities in relation to the financial statements: The committee or Trustees are required by charity's law to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the financial activities of the charity and of its financial the end of that year.

In preparing those financial statements the Trustees are required to:

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees Annual Report and the Financial Statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare Financial Statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these Financial Statements, the Trustees are required to:

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
Observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;
Make judgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
Prepare the Financial Statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation

The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the Financial Statements comply with the Charities Act 2011.

The Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities

Volunteers:

The Trustees wish to record their appreciation on behalf of the Charity and community for the volunteers who assist in the smooth running of the Charity and are critical in helping to keeps the running costs down.

Risk Review :

The Trustees have conducted their own review of the major risks to which the Charity is exposed and steps have been initiated to minimise the identified risks. All functions of the Charity are subjected to periodic review resulting in a process of ongoing improvement. All staff and volunteers are trained and have all the required statutory and regulatory clearances required.

Serious Incidents and Exceptions:

The Trustees are pleased to note, that there were no incidents which gave rise to the need for the Trustees to lodge a Serious Incident Report with the Charity Commission. Furthermore, there were no Exceptions recorded and which gave rise to the need for the Trustees to record on the Charity’s Exceptions’ Register.

Related Party and Transactions:

During the year the Charity was under the control of Trustees and Management Committee members as listed above. No members of the management committee received any remuneration during the year. No trustee or other person related to the charity had any personal interest in any contract or transaction entered into by the charity during the year.

Reserve Policy:

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds, which have not been designated for a specific use, should be maintained at a level equivalent to its expenditure. The Trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding. They will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. The Centre will actively work to achieve this level of reserves.

Independent Examiner:

According to the provisions of the Charities Act 2008 and updated 2011, the Committee has agreed that and audit is not required for this financial year. However due to provisions of the same act an independent examiner is required and Capstone Accountants appointed as external Accountant or Independent Examiner.

Capstone Accountants carried out an independent examination of the accounts included in the report. This report, which has been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice(SORP) Accounting and Reporting by Charities issued in 2005.

Accountants / Independent Examiner' report to the trustees of SIMPLE REASON

We report on the accounts for the year ended 31 January 2026 have been prepared under the historical cost convention and the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the financial statements.

Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Accountants

The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements, and they consider that the trust is exempt from an audit. It is our responsibility to carry out procedures designed to enable us to report our opinion to you.

Basis of Opinion

We conducted our work in accordance with the Statement of Standards for Reporting Accountants, and so our procedures consisted of comparing the accounts with the accounting records kept by the charity, and making such limited enquiries of the trustees and officers as we considered necessary for the purpose of this report. These procedures provide only the assurance expressed in our opinion.

Opinion

In our opinion:

(a) The accounts are in agreement with the accounting records kept by the charity under the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice - Accounting and Reporting by Charities;

(b) Having regard only to, and on the basis of, the information contained in those accounts:

(1) The accounts have been drawn up in a manner consistent with the accounting requirements specified the Statement of Recommended Practice - Accounting and Reporting by Charities, and

(2) The charity satisfied the conditions for the exemption from an audit of the accounts for the year specified in the Charities Act.

(3) This unaudited account has been prepared based on the figures, information, and explanations provided by the management of the current committee.

1 Accounting policies

Basis of preparation

The Financial Statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets and investments measured at market value.

The Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2015), and the requirements of Accounting and Reporting by Charities:
