Thank you to everyone involved in making this year a great success.
I have been acting chair for F@B for the last year. Due to covid F@b had very few events to organize but once we could get back to face-to-face and non-bubble events I felt it was important to get back to normal events for the children as they had missed out on so much which is why I stepped up as acting chair
Unfortunately we lost lots of long-term supporters of f@b over the covid period, which had a huge effect on the core members, and parents who always offered to help at events and behind the scenes roles having an impact on those remaining parents
Our first BIG event was our school disco, which was so amazing, and I can’t thank everyone who helped enough. The Amazing fed back we received especially from the younger year groups who hadn’t been to a school disco before was really positive, obviously we also had negative fed back and issues related to the older year groups which going forward I think will change how
we run discos but I believe that was completely unprecedented.
The next event and my biggest event to organize was our summer fair, I cant tell you the mixed emotions I felt with that, stressed obviously but the over whelming happiness seeing all the staff, children and family members enjoying themselves, I’m so proud of our then year 6s on their behavior and their representation of the school on the stalls that they were running or helping with. I also can’t thank the school staff enough for all their help and support during the events.
As I step down as acting chair I am confident that F@b is in safe hands, I truly hope that everyone gets behind our new chair/chairs and supports them especially in this current climate the funds that F@B raise become more and more important to support the school. I will still be around and involved sorry you cant get rid of me that easily.
