## Cleveland Concert Band Charity number: 1188210. 

Cleveland Concert Band was formed in January 2007 by a small group of dedicated musicians who came from Middlesbrough, Eston, Northallerton, Guisborough, New Marske, Redcar, Dormanstown and other places surrounded by the Cleveland Hills in the North East of England. 

Over the years the band have grown to an average of 30 + playing members, and in 2020 decided that the time was right to register as a charity. 

The Charity have a Board of 7 Trustees, who have a wide variety and skills which they bring to the organisation, our current trustee board has changed slightly since gaining charitable status in 2020, as Carolyn Bean resigned from the board, and the band appointed Ms Natalie Bailey as her replacement

During the past year, the band have gone from strength to strength, with a number of new players joining us after taking up music again after a slight hiatus, We also have 1 x young person who attends band every week along with his mum as chaperone (even though the band have a designated Safeguarding Officer (Kate Cauana). 

During 2022/23 period the band performed a lot more  concerts throughout the North East than the previous 2 years, at venues such as Beamish Museum x 3, Saltburn Bandstand x 2, Kildale Show, Ropner Park, Local Care Homes, and we were also invited to perform at a Christmas Concert at St. Columba’s Church Centre Darlington and once again the band were invited to play at Middlesbrough Cenotaph for the Remembrance Day Parade and Service. 



Our musical repertoire is very eclectic, and ranges from Modern Pop Songs, Classical, Military Type Marches, Modern Classics, with a little bit of Jazz and Swing music as well. 

We are currently looking at expanding our range of music by agreeing a sum of money which our MD can spend at his discretion. 

Financially the charity is now more than holding its own, with reserves of over £5,000 (in the last financial period after expenses the band made in excess of £1,160)  which will be carried over to the next financial period, however the Trustees have agreed that we need to keep a minimum balance of £3,500 in reserve to cover our annual costs, which include – Rent, Insurances, Heating and other associated costs.
