This was in<br>identified in the accounts.  response to a OAA fundraising campaign to<br>cover a shortfall of much needed funds to<br>fully complete the project.<br>In 2017 Achimota School turned 90 years.<br>The OAA Executive Committee embarked<br>on a useful legacy project to benefit the<br>school. The Headmistress was asked about<br>the most pressing need for which assistance<br>was needed from the OAA. To which she<br>responded that a new Science Block with<br>modern facilities and equipment was<br>required in view of the large number of<br>science students.<br>The OAA applied for and won funding of<br>$310,000 for the project, from the Tullow Oil<br>Ghana Limited initiative that supports<br>second-cycle institutions with STEM<br>infrastructure.
