Chairman of the Trustees Report for the Charity Hellesdon Christian Disciples (1066338) 2023
This year the church invested significant time and funds to improving our premises. Regular meetings and other social events have continued throughout the year, and we are encouraged to have baptised a new adult Christian, and gained a new charity member.
Over the last year we have continued to have weekly Bible teaching and evening services. Our evening service is primarily attended by young families with children.
We run two prayer groups each month. We also provided three social groups to foster support and friendship.
We run a weekly Sunday school, which several children regularly attend.
We ran a carol service for the local community which was held at the local high school, as well as running a carol service in our own building.
Despite widespread financial instability and increasing mortgage rates, our financial position remains strong, with regular donations as well as a regular income stream from our tenant and the car wash lease.
Over the course of 2024 there are still improvements needed to the building, which we have set aside money to cover.
After many years of service as a trustee, Stuart Collier has taken the decision to step down as Secretary, and assume role as a second elder. This will bring strength and support to our existing elder, and we look forward to seeing what plans our team of Elders and Deacons have for the rest of 2024.
We also donated a portion of our income to other charitable causes, as detailed in our annual accounts.
