Structure Governance and Management
GBC is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation that was registered with the Charity Commission on 25 February 2020. GBC is governed by an association model CIO constitution with the membership consisting of those who have formally been accepted into membership in accordance with the constitution.
As a membership organisation GBC holds members meetings during the year to review the activities of GBC and some formal business is carried out. The Church meetings appoint trustees and approve changes to membership. They also approve changes to the constitution and some minor changes were made on 28 June 2021.
The trustees of GBC are the members of its Leadership Team. Together the Leadership Team are responsible for the spiritual direction of the Church, worship and prayer, discipleship and outreach, as well as the statutory obligation of overseeing the administration of the Church as charity trustees.

The holder of the office of Lead Pastor is an ex-officio member of the Leadership Team. Fellow Church Leader and Church Administrator Mrs Veronica Ruth Blakey assists him in day-to-day management and operation of the Church.
Objectives and Activities
GBC’s aim is to ‘Love God, love each other, make disciples.’
The charitable objectives of the church are:

a) The advancement of the Christian faith according to the principles of the Baptist denomination.

b) The Church may also advance education and carry out other charitable purposes in the United Kingdom and/or other parts of the world.
Achievements and Performance
The main activity of GBC during the reporting period was to prepare to take over the operation of the unincorporated charity Godmanchester Baptist Church, Registered Charity Number 1089263. The transfer of all assets and activities to the CIO took effect on 1 January 2021. Therefore, for the period from its formation on 25 February to the end of the financial year on 31 December, there was no activity and no financial transactions.
The legal agreements to execute this transfer were approved by the trustees of GBC during the reporting period. The transfer was executed on 1 January 2021, immediately after the end of the reporting period.
{The only activity attributable to the CIO was that of a small group of volunteers acting as a Transition Team who prepared for the smooth transition of assets, activities, contracts and liabilities on 1 January 2021}.
Reserves policy
During the reporting period GBC had a policy of holding no reserves as it had no expenditure. GBC adopted the reserves policy of the unincorporated Godmanchester Baptist Church, Registered Charity Number 1089263 upon completion of the transfer of assets, liabilities and operations on 1 January 2021.

1- Accounting Policies:
The accounts are prepared in accordance with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (Charities SORP 2015), FRS102 and with the Charities Act 2011. GBC is a registered charity, no. 1188171 and meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognized at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy notes. Donations are recognised upon receipt.
