## **For the Year Ended 31 December 2021** 

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** 

The entity was constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) as a body corporate under Part 11 of the Charities Act 2011 on 24 February 2020 and registered with the Charity Commission on the same day. 

## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** 

The objects of the CIO are to run and promote a village hall for the benefit of the inhabitants of the village of Appleton Wiske and, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, race or political, religious or other opinions, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances, or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants. 

## **PUBLIC BENEFIT** 

Trustees confirm that the CIO has complied with its duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising its powers and duties. The Trustees believe that all of the CIO's work has public benefit. 

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** 

## **Review of the accounts for the year.** 

No transactions took place during the year. 

## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE** 

The CIO was dormant during the reporting year, apart from the transfer of ownership of the Village Hall from the Trustees of the Appleton Wiske Village Hall Registered Charity completed in November 2021. 

## **FUTURE PLANS** 

The CIO took over all assets and liabilities of the Appleton Wiske Village Hall Registered Charity on 1 January 2022. The CIO plans to continue running the Village Hall in the same way as the Registered Charity ran the village Hall. The Register Charity will now be wound up. 

This set of accounts (albeit with no transactions having taken place) has been prepared for registration with the Charity Commission as a legal requirement. 

Accounts for the Registered Charity have been prepared as a separate document.

## **ACCOUNTANTS' REPORT** 

In accordance with instructions given to us we have prepared, without carrying out an audit, the attached Financial Statements for the year ended 31st December 2021 from the accounting records of our client and from the information and explanations supplied to us. The assets of the organisation are not reflected in the attached and all capital expenditure has been recorded at cost price in the Income and Expenditure Account. Income reflects charges for use of the hall and glasses/tablecloths for the year but the financial statements do not include any accruals or prepayments.
