In addition, it was able to build on the previous season’s relationship with the Help For Heroes Foundation, providing several supplementary sessions for their clients. Financial Review
| Financial Review | ||
|---|---|---|
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | The financial period ended with £9761 of cash funds held in its bank account. The charity saw income from water ski course tow fees of £2688 (against £1296 the previous season). This was a welcome upswing compared to the previous year, which had suffered from a post-pandemic hangover amongst those taking part in adaptive sporting activities. Expenses relating to boat and lake hire for the sessions at Ellingham Water Ski & Wakeboard club remained un-changed, allowing the charity to make only a very small increase in tow fees from £12 to £12.50 per tow in order to cover base operating costs. EIWW also benefitted from a £1000 donation from British Water Ski and Wakeboard in support of its activities. As a result, EIWW saw a surplus of £1348 in 2023-24. The general policy of the charity is to keep the tow fees levied to its users as low as possible. This makes the sport as accessible as possible. The tow fees are therefore designed to cover the base cost of the operation, with any additional projects or capital purchases requiring external fund raising. This is exactly the position the charity has maintained in 2023- 24. The approach for the 2024-25 season will be similar, with emphasis being placed on making more funding applications to enable planned equipment upgrades, whilst still maintaining the lowest achievable base cost for those taking to the water. |
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
