**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE THE HEALTH OF THE PUBLIC, IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION) BY: PROMOTING RESEARCH AND THE DISSEMINATION OF THE USEFUL RESULTS; THE TRAINING AND EDUCATION OF PROFESSIONALS IN RELATION TO THE NATURE, CAUSES, DIAGNOSIS, PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND CURE OF CANCERS OF THE CERVIX AND LOWER GENITAL TRACT AND; BY PROVIDING INFORMATION AND RAISING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF SUCH MATTERS.

**Activities:** To actively promote high standards of colposcopy & research into screening for, diagnosis and prevention of cervical cancer. The BSCCP is committed to an international approach to the disease and continues to oversee trainees & registered colposcopists, who are currently practising, to ensure they maintain their competence.
