To advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees see fit from lime to time in particular bul not limited to the advancement of citizenship and community development within the Barton and Pooley Bridge area. Summary of the objeGts ofthe charity set out in itg gov8rning document In 2015 Ihe bridge at Pooley Bridge collapsed in heavy flooding and the village was cut off from the West bank, causing considerable disruption to the residents of the village. A replacement bridge is now under construction (completed O¢lober 20201, and the decision was taken for pavers lo be available for sale and the funds generated from the sales to be used for exclusively charitable purposes within the Barton & Pooley Bridge area by setting up a charitable fund. The Trustees had due regard lo the commission's public benefit guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant. Section D Achievements and performance The grants will be available lo organisalions within Barton and Pooley Brid9e. The fund is for the development of the community and the ethos for applications will centre around that. Applications can be for initiatives, community projects or events. The application musl address an identifiable community need and result in identifiable benefits to the community of Barton & Pooley Bridge which are exclusively charitable. Summary of the main achievements of the charity durlng the year Grants made from the Trust in the year.. £2,676 for Parkin Memorial Hall to put towards the lighting and sound system £1,092.45 for D Day celebrations £235 to Friends of Ullswater Way for an art project £129.60 to Chestnut House for a community event £1,100 to Lakeland Waste Management for the heating project at the Village Hall TAR March 2024
Section E Financial review The Trustees will meet and discuss the applications and then the Trustees will vote to decide who will receive the grants, Trustees will vole for those organisations Ihat provide benefils which are exclusively charitable and that the Trustees feel will best meet the charity's objectives. There will be a maximum grant of £2,500 and there will be maximum total grant awarded per year of £5,000 to preserve the longevity of th8 fund. The Trustees do have the ability to exceed these levels in the event of a special project.
