which engage target audiences; and (C) the
advancement of the arts, including (but not
limited to) through: (i) the creation of
immersive opera productions; and (ii) the
development of new collaborative practices
for creating and staging operas; (iii)
reinventing the narratives of standard
repertoire operas and collaborating with

summer 2021 due to Covid restrictions). In
the autumn we presented a livestreamed
masterclass from the Arts Club in central| |||London, with Della Jones, featuring four
emerging artists. The Opera Makers also
produced a series of short videos entitled
"The 12 DAYS* (*Ditties, Arias & Yuletide
Shenanigans) of Christmas", and raising
funds for the emerging artists involved.
These activities contributed to the purposes
of the charity including, without limitation, to
the advancement of the education of
musicians at the start of their professional
careers, and was the first step towards
achieving our mission of staging accessible
operas and developing new artistic and

England to support Hopes & Fears, a new
opera based on the music of Debussy and

project will provide paid work and training to
emerging artists as well as bringing opera to
a broad audience and promoting the
relevance of the artform, while building new
collaborations with other social enterprises
and testing new ways of creating work.
The Charity assumed The Opera Makers
CIC. By becoming a charity; The Opera
Makers CIO committed publicly to its core
objectives, and opened up broad
opportunities for fundraising to support its
goals.
The Charity produced a live-streamed and
professionally recorded masterclass with its
patron, Della Jones, offering 4 emerging
artists a platform to train and perform during
a global pandemic, and also providing them
with vital recorded materials for auditions
etc. The masterclass was watched by over
1,500 people online.
The Charity produced a series of "tongue in
cheek" videos inspired by the 12 Days of
Christmas, reaching an audience of over
1,000 online and raising in excess of £800
(received in the following financial year) for
the artists involved, all of whom had lost
Christmas singing income due to the
