Annual Report on LearnXtra Charitable Activities
Charity number: 1188103
1st May 2022 – 1st April 2023
LearnXtra continues to promote educational development and personal growth through innovative programs and activities. Our mission is to empower young minds from diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential, nurturing skills that inspire confidence and resilience. This year we undertook two key initiatives: an archery program for kids and a mentoring and coding workshop for 13–21-year-olds. These activities underscore our commitment to holistic development, blending physical activity, personal mentorship, and technological proficiency.
Archery for Kids: Building Confidence Through Precision and Discipline
Archery sessions were designed for children under 16 and adults 16 years and older. Archery is not only a fun and engaging activity but also an excellent way to instil focus, patience, and self-confidence. Over the course of the program, participants were taught the basics of archery, including safety measures, proper techniques, and target practice.
Key Highlights
-
Sessions: A total of 22 sessions were held.
-
Skill Development: The activity improved hand-eye coordination, concentration, and perseverance.
-
Teamwork and Community: The sessions encouraged camaraderie and teamwork, as children worked in groups to achieve shared goals.
Outcomes
This activity proved to be an effective tool for engaging young children in a positive and disciplined environment.
Mentoring and Coding Workshop: Equipping Youth for a Digital Future
In response to the increasing importance of digital skills in today’s job market, LearnXtra launched a mentoring and coding workshop targeting young people aged 13–21. This program combined personalized mentorship with hands-on coding exercises, fostering both technical expertise and career readiness.
Mentorship: Experienced professionals guided participants on career pathways, goal setting, and overcoming challenges in academia and the workplace.
Coding Modules: Tailored workshops covered beginner programming, focusing on languages such as Python and JavaScript, as well as the principles of web development and problem-solving.
Conclusion
Both the archery program and the mentoring and coding workshop highlight our dedication to developing well-rounded individuals who are confident, skilled, and ready to contribute to society.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers, donors, and partners for making these initiatives possible. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for the next generation.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, we aim to broaden our programs, ensuring that more children and young people benefit from our initiatives. We invite you to join us in this journey of empowerment and education.
