Background And History
Bridlington Pride was founded and established with purpose to:
-
promote equality and diversity for the public benefit, and in particular, the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity of those living in Bridlington and the surrounding areas;
-
deliver an annual Bridlington Pride event, which will be a live music event marketed at the LGBT+ community, but inclusive of all.
Activities
Bridlington Pride held its first event on 28[th] February 2020 at The Lodge Bridlington. The event was a Launch Party to kickstart future planned events leading up to the main Pride Event which was to be intended to be on 4[th] July 2020 at the Bridlington Spa.

The Launch Party, which was free to enter, had entertainment from The Funky Beavers and live DJs, with fundraising opportunities throughout the night (see Financial Statement for the 10 Month Period ending 19 December 2020). The outcome was that the newly formed charity was able to raise awareness of LGBT+ related issues, as well as increase the profile of Bridlington Pride, within the town and surrounding areas.
Shortly after the Launch Event the country experienced the first wave of the unforgiving pandemic which was Coronavirus (Covid-19) and all plans for future events, meetings and fundraising were cancelled.
As at the end of the financial period ending 19/12/2020 Bridlington Pride had not planned anything for the following year due to the uncertainty of Covid-19.
