Sheila was an inspirational creator of a seNce in Oxfordshire for children with autisrn and related conditions. She led a
team of more than staff workirg with 2QJ thiklren in many host schools. The philosophy which Sheila engende￿d by
her èxample lives on.. respect aTrJ caring for each chdd and Èath family combined a realism aboul their dfficulties,.
a willingness to explo￿ new ideas: devetoping the lo address Ihe daity reality of the childien's problems. and

mainstrearn secondary schools and ojleges. Previou$ly kn¢Mn as rapid response rounds and developed originally lo
allow schools and col*es to respond quickty to the impact of Ihe COVID-19 pandem￿. small-scale rapid impact funding
rounds have proved to be hugely benefiryal. For schtsjls and ccAleges they are a practical and manageable way ol
resourcro mvch-needed arbvibes whi¢h deliver wnpact for aubstic students afterjvst six months.
The focus ol each rapid impact round 1$ based on desktop research. Through this approach. SCF has been able to
highlight the areas where addrt*Jnal fundiThJ can hdp and make the mosl impacl. This has d￿￿0￿d since the rap*J
impa¢t rounds were introduced in 2021.
To ensure SCF fvnds targeted areas of rnosl need, SCI￿lS and colleges are acbvely encouraged to consult with and
work with autist￿ young people. This also refleds SCF values.
Since 5tsrting in 2021 trustees have de&gnated £1,863,OCQ for rapid resFonse or rakxd impa¢t funding. Thi$ amount has
funded eight 9rant-making rounds offering on&off awards of £1.000 or £5.000 to 455 mainstream secondary schools.

Rapid impact round ￿ght, totaling £STr).OCfj, was IaUr￿hed in Awil 2024. Unlike Ihe previous seven rwnds, whith had

prevsously. thi5 fund aim8(1 to address auiislic young peoples. mental heaNh and well-being. We gave a total of £500,000
10 100 Sch￿1$ and C￿legeS which supported 4.878 autistic young peorAe. We have also planned our programme ol
granl-giving for 2025, which indudes another England-wide round of £5lY).r￿. This ￿11 launch in April 2025 and focus
on ueaiNe and innovative aCtI￿tieS that enable autistic sludertts to excd and xhie¥e, fiourish and succeed in school or
college.
As anticipaled, the England-wide rnpid imp8¢t eight generated a signifThnt increase in apPI￿atiOnS cornpared lo

This year, analysis ofdata from impact sLitements relating to rawd responst round sèven shows that SCF funding makes
a significant impad lo sthools. students and to staff. A thematic analyss of ifflpa¢t statemènts indicates that autisiic
students are calmer and more regulaied. wjlh improvements in attendar￿. behaviour. learning, wellbeing and
confidence.

making aclivity. considering our t￿get auth'ences and messages. and ways to maximise the impact of our

to direct its own work and be disserninaled more widely to influence wder edUCat￿nal praciice and pdicy. To this end,
twstèes havè a9reed that some fuThJs should be allocatÈd through a targeted rtyjnd of funding, antiapatecl in Autumn
2025. The aim of this targeted funding is to eXFlO￿ whether there are some aCtiV￿eS that make more difference to the
lives of aulisti¢ young peopl• in schools and colleges. It is anb"cipated that sd)ools and cdleges wll be invited to bid for
srnall gr8nlS lo enhan(% their provision in a parbojlar area and SCF will collèct impact information to deepen the

The directOTS of the c￿￿panY are at50 ¢harity trustees as defined by seclion 177 of the Charities Act 2011. Under the
quirements of the Mernorandum and Artides of Asscoats"on one third of the directors must retire from office by
rotation at each annual genefal meeling. They may put themselves fcvw¥￿ for re-ele¢tion if eligble. The mininYJm
number of dirèdors is three and there is no maximum number.
All trustees give their bme vduntsfity and none re¢eived ben•ffts from the dwiy. Any expenses reC￿lmed from the
charity are set out in note 7 of the accounls.
In a￿oI￿anCe with the tharitabl• obieds. the charitys work foojses on young people with autism. Board of
Trustees seeks to ensure that the needs of this gr￿p are approwatety reflected through the diversity of the Irustee
body. Over 50% of the ujrrent trustees are expenenwl in woth with or in support of vulnerable young people.
Additsonally management, bjsinvss and finance 8kill$ are well fftpre$ented on the Board. One of our truslees has
lived experience of autism.
In an effort lo m8intsin this broad skin mix. an annual audit of the skli Is of the members of thè Board is undertaken.
This helps Klentify any 8kill$ gaps and fo¢uses efforts to recrnii new trUSt￿s. In Ihe event of parti'cular skills being b5t
due to retirements. or the need for addit￿al trustees, indNiduals are approached to offer themselves for eleclion to
the Board. In January 2025, a new trustee was appointed to the Board. Havin9 9one through this process, trustees
agreed Ihat there is ojrrenlty no wuirement for an additicnJ Board member al Ihis lime.
