We pay special attention to the recruitment, supervlslon and tralning of volunteers who serve as Trustees or work with chlldren and vulnerable adults, includlng reoulrlng safeguardin8 training. Grantmakin Grantmaking forms a small part of the charity'5 overall operations and mission. We offer small financial support to organisations with whom we portner in outreach and mission. The pollcy governs management of Investment funds, and It Is reviewed annually by the Trustees. STRucfuRE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT A. Constitutlon The charity is governed by Its Articles of Incorporatlon, which were filed on 28 June 2019. Method of A olntment of Election of Trustees The Charlty's management is the responsibility of the Trustees, who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the Articles of Association. Trustees under80 a selection pr¢xes5 via the Nominating Committee of the Charity, and are elected at the Annual General Meetin8 by all member5. New trustees are given a full induction to the Charity and their responsSbSllties under Charity Law, Sncludin8 safeguarding trainin8 and adherence to our Code of Conduct. C. Dlsclosure of Paid Trustees The Charty has two Trustees who are paid member5 of the Staff: Rev. Jennifer Mills-Knutsen, Senior Minister and Rev. Jared la8gers, Associate Minister. They do not ever form a majority of the trustees, and they recuse themselves from all conversations reviewing their salaries, which are approved American International Church Trustees, Report for The Year Ending 31st December 2023 Separately by the other TnJstee5. The provisions for their status as Ex Officio Trustees is governed by the Articles of Incorporation. Salaries are reviewed annually. and in line with fair market rates for ymilar positions. The Rev. Jennlfer Mllls-Knutsen was paid a salary of £59,843.20 in 2023. Benefit5 includlng tuition for her child and travel reimbursement totalled £13,217.48, and pension and life insurance totalled £2.810.41. In additlon, she lives In church-owned accommodatlon, which is not counted a5 a beneflt because It is a requirement of her employment. The Rev. Jared Jaggers was pald a salary of £48,862 In 2023. D. Em ees and Staff Cost5 The Church employed four full-time and three part-tlme staff throughout 2023, though one full tlme posltlon was In vacancy from 3 March to l October in 2023. The total costs for all staff were E255,620. F. Re ort of Latchcourt Limlted, Subsidia Charitable Cor oratlon Latchcourt Limited is reglstered with Companle5 House as a charltable company. The entirety of Latchcourt shares are owned by the American International Church. The entire net proceeds from Latchcourt are 8lfted to the church, as it functions as the hiring agent for booking space at the American Internatlonal Church. Latchcourt has eleven part-time staff. ORGANISATIONAL STRucfuRE AND DECISION-MAKING The Church Council art5 as Trustees. They meet monthly to review the program and finances, set and approve policy, oversee the church's vi5i0n and dlrection, and ensure best practices of governance ond management. in accordance wlth the Artlcles of Incorporation and Regulations of the Charltv. Some decisions require approval of the Membershlp of the Amerlcan International Church. The congregation meet5 at least once a year to receive the Annual Report, approve the budget, elect new Trustee5 and address any other business. Cold Weather Shelter WhSle I siepped Inro rhe wodd of C4WS here ar AIC only a month prior to rhe 2023-2024 season, there were months of preparaiK)n thar had already taken place. Robin Appleby and Tlna Paiel were Instrumental in helping to organise and lake inveniory for shelier during Ihe summer. Their work greatty contribured to rny own dulln9 my first few weeks in the role. While prepanng for shelter season ahead of Novernber, vailou5 donarions allowed us to purchase 20 rTrew beds, l O duvers, new mugs, and new laundry items (among other small Irem5 as welll. The change in beds have not only brought an increase in 5roiage space, but also are easier for volunteers to assemble and allow our guests to sleep slightly elevated off the ground now. In 2023, we welcomed sevefal new volunteer5 and groups. Numerous volunteers wlth a Taiwanese Fellowship Team led by Yufen Chen became conslsienr regulars and were a tremendous help durlng the monihs ol November ènd Oecember. Their abiliiy 10 connect wlih guests Was a joy to wltne55, and Some also brought kind ¢Yonaiions 01 shared wlih us their artisiSc ialeni by drawlng portraiis ol guesis. Flesh Fitne55 Food also provided conrinual volunteer 519n-up5, helping deliver nurriiiou5 and delicious meals to our guesis. Refugee Befriending Program In relation to our work with refugees and asylum seekers, one of the key iniliatives we have continued to cultlvate in 2023 is the Refugee Befriending Program. The program is funded via the grant received from Camden Giving's Equality Fund and aims to foster integiation, community building. and culiurèl unde151andinglexchange between refugees, asylum-seekef5, chaflties, and those local to London through gatherings hosied at AIC. The biggest and m05t consisteni oppoiiunity 10 do so centre5 on our Supper Club partnership wth HostNation. These events allow a collaboratwe dynamic to exisr between Al, our volunteers, and thosewho are connected with HosENatS0n. Uy first week in p05t incorporated a Supperclub eveni in Ociober. At thi5 evenr, we were able to h05t around 50 guests and had a team ol around 6 volunieers. It was an ,Ivening filled with lots of conversaiion and dellcious Thai food provided byJacK endor ai ourworld Fwd Market. Ir was also an opportuniiy for H05tNation to e5ent a series offilm5 related to refugee and asylum seeker experience5. 4uilding on that event, we hosted another Supperclub around Christmas as well. At rhis event, we welcomed around 80 guests and volunteers and had a theme of'A British Christmas.. Of course, this meant the meny involved British Christmas classlcs like turkey, roast potatoes, rooi veg, peas, brussds sprouts, siuffing balls, bread sauce, cranberry sauce, and yorkshire pudding5. Guests also experienced thejoy of Chilsimas Cracker5 and mince pies. We were even joined by Father Chrisimas Ibig thank5 to Orlando Brooke fOrd￿ssIng in the AIC Santa Suitll and he, èlong with PastorJennifer, led everyrjne in singing and acting out The Twelve Day5 oIChri5rmas.
