In addition to measures**<br>**to improve its own culture and facilities,**<br>**the plan includes a commitment to**<br>**engage further with its local community.**<br>**Outreach work with local schools**<br>**included a pilot programme which**<br>**involved teaching disadvantaged young**<br>**people to row in order to improve**<br>**fitness and motivation for learning.**<br>**Our facilities were shared with several**<br>**other rowing clubs across the country**<br>**to help with their training programmes.**<br>**Improvements were made to the**<br>**operation of Open Events we organise**<br>**for racing on the river Dee, including a**<br>**greater emphasis on feedback from**<br>**participants. These events provide a**<br>**showcase for the sport to local**<br>**residents.**<br>**The main achievement of the charity**<br>**continues to be offering the opportunity**<br>**of healthy exercise to residents of**<br>**Chester and surrounding areas. Our**<br>**Learn to Row courses attracted 70**<br>**adults (67% women) during this period**<br>**of whom over 75% chose to continue**<br>**with rowing compared with less than**<br>**50% previously. The Summer School**<br>**programme involved 66 young people**<br>**(42% girls) learning to row helped by 10**<br>**coaches and 24 junior helpers.**|
