Since the easing of Covid 19 restrictions we have really got stuck into the work needed to build up the shed, and I’m pretty sure that those of you who haven’t been a while will be able to see the difference from your last visit.

This was all thanks to the members and together with generous donations from the Parish Council, along with many other charitable minded organisations.

In particular, the workshop has seen a great deal of change, and thanks must go to all to those shedders involved bringing it up to its present position

We have also upgraded the security and safety systems and once again thanks to out in-house expertise. The change isn’t just internal which has seen a facelift, you can see when walking around that the outside area is also developing well and now it is a joy to be in the garden. Well done and thanks to those members who have done so much and worked so hard out there.

We still occupy the building on a licence to occupy basis, as we wait for the solicitors to complete the final required documentation for both ourselves and for ACCA and the Charity Commission, this has been a very long-drawn-out process. On this note I would like to thank, not only to our own trustees, but to the ACCA trustees for their continued work to get this transfer over the line.

Since the last AGM we have organised and had numerous fund-raising events, the most successful being the two weekends that coincided with last year’s local scarecrow event when our outdoor tabletop sale raised in excess of £1000, our Christmas fayre raised a further £800. We should also not forget the funds that are raised from our many tenants, from the activities organised by the Anlaby and Willerby U3A groups together with the ladies who run the weekly toddler’s group, and all the groups in between. Thank you all so much.

As this AGM marks the end of my 2-year period as chairman of MISH, ap position which I hope you all feel that I have undertaken, with a great deal of integrity and professionalism. You, the members must now choose your new chair, I’m sure that whoever takes the position will serve the shed well.

Take care and stay safe.

Peter Bristow (Chair)
