Annual Trustees Report 2023

Go and Tell Ministries

Registered Charity 1188075 (throughout England and Wales)

Annual Trustees Report for Y/E 28[th] February 2023

Go and Tell Ministries is a charitable Incorporated Organisation. The principal office of the CIO is 5 Queens Avenue, Rochdale , Lancashire, OL12 9HS.

The CIO is governed by 3 Trustees, who currently are Gillian Mary Berry, Peter Trevor Baddeley and Ian Lowe.

The Trustees delegate the day to day management of the CIO to the Operations Director, Katherine Lucy Hudson, 5 Queens Avenue, Rochdale, Lancashire, OL12 9HS.

The Trustees recognise the role of Wayne Hudson as a trained evangelist to carry out the objects of Go and Tell Ministries.

The CIO holds a charity bank account with CAF Bank Ltd, 25 Kings Hill Avenue, Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, ME19 4JQ.

The objects of Go and Tell Ministries are to advance the Christian faith in the UK and Worldwide for the public benefit, mainly but not exclusively by means of broadcasting Christian messages of an evangelistic, teaching and practical nature. We have fulfilled these objects in the following ways:

  1. Over the last 12 months we have continued to go out onto the streets of Manchester to share the Christian Faith and demonstrate hope through evangelistic proclamation and also one to one conversations with members of the general public as well as offering prayer for the sick. We have given out free Bibles and Christian literature relating to the relevant issues we came across such as dealing with addictions, mental health and hopelessness.

We have signposted and connected those wanting further information about Chrisitan places of worship to local churches where they can receive practical help as well as spiritual guidance. We met one man who had just been released from prison that morning. We were able to offer the Christian message of hope and connect him practically to a local church.

We have continued to be joined by local Christians and ministry groups. At Christmas we joined with the Glory Dancers and distributed bags to homeless and vulnerable people that included warm gloves, socks, energy bars and hygiene packs.

  1. Over the last 12 months we continued to carry out and be involved in Missions and Outreaches, both locally in Rochdale and Greater Manchester and in various locations in England, Scotland and Wales, working alongside other Christian organisations and churches with similar objectives. One of these included Bridges, which is a local weekly meeting

where the homeless and vulnerable can come for a meal as well as hearing the Chrisitan message of hope. Impact Church in Oldham invited us to talk at the men’s breakfast where the local men could receive food as well as a place to talk and befriend. We were invited by 3 local churches Open Door, New Life and Newbold to preach at their fun days as they reach out practically to their local communities.

During the year we have been involved in 7 missions overseas, in Mexico, Kenya, Uganda, Spain, USA and South Africa, preaching and praying for the sick and seeing hundreds of people respond and believe in the Chrisitan message. Whilst on mission in Mexico, we visited a street school where we took educational resources for the children as well as taking a lesson on making good choices in a high school and praying for the sick at the hospital.

We have continued to make use of online platforms and Wayne was able to preach to thousands of people in Africa over the Radio.

  1. We have continued to provide Evangelism Training Workshops using the Evangelism Training Resources that Go and Tell have written and produced. In February we were invited by a regional organisation NWGE to hold a workshop to encourage and equip other local evangelists in their faith, calling and sense of purpose.

In June we launched a Go Impact Group, where local believers wanting to explore evangelistic work come together for prayer, mentoring and access to mission opportunities. Local pastors have been encouraged to send potential evangelists to the group.

  1. As a Charity we continue to communicate what we are doing through Bi-monthly Newsletters. These include details of what the CIO has been doing as well as testimonies which encourage people in their belief and Spiritual well-being.

  2. Our Prayer Group meets regularly on WhatsApp to uphold the charity’s work. The group met in person in September, praying for Go & Tell, the sick and those in need worldwide.

  3. In November Howard Smith gave notice of his retiring as a Trustee with effect from February 2023. The trustees thanked Howard for his work with the setting up and running of the charity. Ian Lowe, pastor of New Life Community Church in Milnrow was appointed to fill the vacancy.

  4. In February 2023 we carried out a Safeguarding Audit as required by the Charity Commission.

  5. Our Annual General Meeting was held on 25th March 2023.

  6. The trustees approved the annual accounts, a copy of which is appended to this report. We are always grateful for the continuing generosity of our supporters.
