|||||||The Charity aims to reduce food poverty and|
|||||||food waste and offer social inclusion to all.|
|Summary<br>ofthe main<br>activities<br>in relation to those|||||Para 1.17and<br>1.19|Our first year as a charity was very busy and<br>with Coronavirus<br>still dominant,<br>our second|
|purposes||for the public||||year was just as busy. This meant we found|
|benefit,|in|particular,|the|||ourselves<br>growing so fast that we found our|
|activities,||projects or||||original<br>unit too small for what we needed to|
|services|identified<br>in||the|||offer.|

|||||||While we ceased our deliveries tothose only|
|||||||with<br>very<br>vulnerable<br>conditions<br>or proven|
|||||||coronavirus<br>tests, we found<br>those<br>visiting|
|||||||the<br>unit<br>increased<br>considerably<br>so<br>the|
|||||||decision<br>was<br>taken<br>to<br>look<br>for<br>larger|
|||||||premises.|
|||||||In June<br>2021 we<br>found<br>a considerably|
|||||||bi<br>er unit and started to ne otiate the best|





|||||lease<br>possible<br>while<br>still<br>operating<br>to|
|---|---|---|---|---|
|||||capacity. The lease was finally signed on 8~|
|||||February<br>2022.<br>After a 4 week<br>refit we|
|||||moved into the unit on 6th ofMarch, opening|
|||||to the<br>public<br>the<br>next<br>day<br>with<br>limited|
|||||services.<br>Our official opening<br>was on 11'"|
|||||March 2022; attended<br>by Rt. Hon Pditi Patel|
|||||MP and<br>Simon<br>Brice The<br>High<br>Sheriff of|
|||||Essex.|
|||||We<br>continue<br>to<br>operate<br>the<br>community|
|||||fridge that offers both free and discounted|
|||||food to those<br>in need<br>and<br>reduces<br>food|
|||||waste going to landfill.|
|||||The<br>fdidge<br>continues<br>to<br>be<br>very<br>well|
|||||supported<br>by the local supermarkets<br>both|
|||||direct<br>and<br>via<br>the<br>Fareshare<br>and|
|||||Neighbourly<br>scheme.<br>Our team ofamazing|
|||||volunteers<br>are<br>dedicated<br>to<br>collecting<br>6|
|||||nights per week and 5days.|
|||||In the first year of collecting<br>we saved over|
|||||80 tonnes offood going to landfill; seeing a|
|||||huge<br>increase<br>of over 50 tonnes<br>of food|
|||||saved from landfill<br>during the year.|
|||||Our food support scheme to help those who|
|||||are struggling<br>financially<br>has since a huge|
|||||increase<br>in referrals.|
|||||We have also added a number ofgroup and|
|||||workshops<br>to suit those who find it difficult to|
|||||connect with others,<br>have disabilities<br>or are|
|||||lonely and our cafesees a number ofregular|
|||||visitors who have created afriendship<br>group|
|||||which<br>is growing<br>weekly.|
|||||During<br>this financial<br>year we have<br>carried|
|||||out<br>over<br>85,000<br>interventions|
|||||This<br>includes<br>direct<br>support<br>and|
|||||signposting,<br>an increase<br>of 55,000 during|
|||||this<br>financial<br>year.|
