expenditure and into a more efficient 8nd strategic org8ni88tion.
The current balance forthe charity account Is £88.177.82. Thls is an increase of £28.000 since

GoFundNe have supported me in s8ttingupthe fundraising page and they secured excellent

transferred to our bank account by Paypal. who take a small percentage. l am th8refore

encouraging donations directlyto our account.. especiallyfor large amounts. I can add these to the

that theirparticul8r MMP colour is added to the websrte. I have alreadysent details of MMP Kent's

1.6 Mu•lc Man Tradlng
Music M8nTT8ding Lirnited 18 the TradingComparyforThe Music Man Charity. It runs the Music
Msn Project headquarters in Southend and can 81sooperate merchandi8e, ticket saLes and any
other transactlons not dlrectly related to the charity activities. ThSs avoid8 the charity b8ing 8ubleGt
to corporation tax. The trading CDmpany is su¥'eGt to ¢orporation tax but does not have to pay the
tax on money donated to its shaieholder- The Music Man Project Charty.
The Music Man Trading company has nowpaid a donationldividend 01 £15.1)OOto The Muslc Man
Charity. More payments wiiifollow. and these can be ring-fen¢ed as protected payments for
specltic charitable activities. The latest £5,000 payment has been ringtenced forthe Broadway
appeal. Thankyou to staff (particularlyjenny Hitchcock) and students of the Mu$lc Man Project in
Southend whose income from teachinghas generated such a lot of moneyfor the charity after 18
months oftrading.
Trustees do not have accesstothe trading companyaccounts butthe balance is £31.580.62. Thls
is lowerthan our last me8ting because of the donations madetoThe Music Man Project charlty.

The Masonlc Lodge of Hertfordshire donated £5,000 lastyearforthe expansion of The Music Man
Project in Hertfordshire. This has just been match-funded bythe n8tlonal Masonic Charitable
Foundation. Wetherefore have £10.000 resep48d for ourwork in Hertfordshire. Some ofihis Gan be
donated to MMP Herts at Grove Cottage Mencap. but most will be feserved to expand to other areas
ofthe county.
The total amount cuirently in thetradlng ¢ompany and chaiity accounts combined is approximately
£125.000. This is notall disposable money because much ofthe trading companyfunds cover
teacherwages and Southend expenses. butit shows the continued progress we've made in regard
to financial 5ecurty since September2023. In previous years our average balance is typically
£30.000. This mean5 8 three tofoui-fold increase in our turnover.
Finally, I would like to record my thanks to MMP Director, Sarah Mann lor her efficient co-
authorlsgtion of online banking. The system has V4*orked very well formanyyears.
