for the Year Ended 31 March 2026
This has been a year of extfaordinary encouragement for Bridgè the Gap.
When I look across the stories in this report, l am reminded that whal began as a simple vision to
help churches connect with foolball-loving young people has become something much bigger than
any of us could have imagined. Across the UK, and now increasingly around the world, we are
seeing communilies formed, lives changed and people encountering Jesus through the simple
combination of football, friendship, and faith.
Many young people today are searching for belonging, purpose and hope. Long before they are
ready to slep into s church g6rvica, Ihoy aro Ofton looking for a eommunity wh&ra thoy can ba
known, valued, and accepted. Bridge the Gap creates those spaces. Football opens the door,
relationships build trust, and local churches PTovide a place where faith can be explored and lives
transformed.
TTisian's repon capiures many of the remarkable stories from the past year. As trustees, we never
want to lose sight of the fact thal behind every slatislic is a person.Every attendance figure
represents an individual made in the image of God. Every new site represents a local church
stepping out in mission. Every story of faith represents a life transformed.
What has particularly encouraged me during my first year as Chair IS the quality of people involved
in this ministry. Bridge the Gap is blessed with an exceptional staff team, committed volunteers,
supportive Church partners, generous donors and failhful tiuslees. Together they have built
something that is both ambitious in vision and deeply rooted in service. Their commitment, energy
and faithfulness continue to create opportunities for thousands of young people to encounter
genuine friendship and hear about Jesus.
What excites me most is not simply the growth we have seen this year, but the opportunity ahead.
The expansion of Bridge the Gap Youth, our partnership with Alpha, the development of new
resources and the early launches in the United Slates and Australia all point towards a ministry
entering a new phase of inflltence and impact.
Growth is exciting, bul growth is never the goal in itself. Our aim is not simply lo launch more siles
nr TP.8r.h higgg.r niimhg.r£. nijr aim is lo help more young people encounter Jesus Ihroijgh
authentic community, friendship and local churches. As opportunities continue to emerge, we
remain committed lo growing with purpose, protecting the culture and mission that have made
Bridge the Gap so effective, whilst equipping more churches to play their part.
As a Board, our role is simple.. to ensure that Bridge the Gap remain5 faithful to ils mission, wse in
ils stewardship and ambitious in ils vision. We are committed to supporting the team as they
pursue sustainable growth, deepen partnerships and continue creating environments where young
people can discover hope, purpose and life in Jesus.
The challenges facing young people today remain significant. Yet everywhere we look, we see
reasons for hope. We see churches willing to step out in faith. We see volunteers giving their lime
generously. We see supporters investing sacrificially. Most importantly, we see lives being
changed through encounters with Jesus Christ.
Before closing, I would like to express my personal thanks to two trustees whose contribution to
Bridge the Gap has been exceptional. Catherine Delve served as our founding Chair and has been
instrumental in helping shape the charity from ils earliest days. Her leadership, wisdom and
unwavering support have helped create the strong foundations on which we continue to build, and I
am delighted Ihat she remalns anactlve and valued Irusiee.

I would also like to thank Jon Finch, who recently stepped down from the Board after serving since
the very beginning of Bridge the Gap. Jon has been a trusted source of wisdom, en¢oLJragemenl
and support throughout the charity's journey. His contribution has been immense, and while he
may no longer be a trustee, we are grateful that he remains part of the wider Bridge the Gap
family.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you to everyone who has played a part in the work of
Biidge the Gap during the past year. Whether through prayer, volunteering. partnership or financial
support, you are helping create communities where young people can belong, grow and encounter
the tr8ngforming love of God.

A friend was praying recently and retninded me that in all things, "God has gone before us and
expect the unexpected.
That has been the story of Bridge the Gap so far.
God has gone before us time and time again whether that's launching new siles, bringing the right
staff into the team, seeing people come to faith, or connecting us with the right people at exactly
the right time. Thank you to everyone who has joined in with the vision. From players, churches,
volunteers, donors, business partners and trustees, lo our incredible staff team these are the
pcoplc who make Bridge the Gap so special.
God is on the move across the UK right now.
We're seeing this in many spaces, but especially across all levels of football. Professional
footballers are speaking openly atrjout taitm more than ever before. Players are celebrating with "I
Love Jesus shirts, cross celebrations, and openly talking about Jesus in post match interviews
and media appearances. We also have the privilege of seeing God move through our local Bridge
the Gap cornmunilies across the UK.
In April 2025, for the first time, five young men came to church through Bridge the Gap. In the
following weeks, they brought four more friends with them. Many were responding lo prayer and
wanting to follow Jesus.The tide is turning.
Later that year, four of them Game to focus a Christian festival. They had never camped before
and had never experienced worship in a large festival setting. On the final day, these young men
sat reading the Bible with other young people. That evening, one of them gave his life to Jesus.
Today, those same young men are helping lead the newly launched Bridge the Gap Youth in
Southampton becoming positive role models for others and now helping run Alpha for other young
men connected to Bridge the Gap.
We are seeing this again and again. Lives are being transformed, and increasingly there is a ripple
effèet impacting families. friendships and the. np_¥t gp.np_rxtinn
I was also deeply moved by the story of a young man in Cambridge. He had beer) invited to Bridge
the Gap bul then lost his job. The church chose to support him financially so he could continue
attending because Bridge Ihe Gap had become his community.
That young man started coming to church, gave his life lo Jesus, and was paired with a mentor
who helped him find work again. Once back in employment, he approached Bridge the Gap and
asked to repay every penny that had supported him so il could be paid forward lo help others.
This isn't simply about the power of football. It's about the power of Jesus.
Bridge the Gap Sites UK
This year we saw a 20°/0 increase in new site launches. Our heart remains the same.. to launch
sites that reach people who don't yel know Jesus.
Over the next three years, our focus is to continue expanding across the North and Midlands
reaching new ground for the sake of the Gospel.

This year has also been foundational for the expansion of Bridge the Gap Youth. In November, we
were invited by Just Sow and The Maclellan Foundation lo pitch as one of four charities for funding
to help scale the ministry. We were incredibly grateful to be selected and received nearly £70,000
in funding.
As a result, we hired our first full-time Bridge the Gap Youth Coordinator, who started in January
2026. This has enabled us to launch in Southampton and begin preparing for the next wave of
youth locations launching later this year.
We are hearing more and more stories of young people inviting friends to football, who then begin
attending youth groups and eventually tryirig church for the very first time.
BTG x Alpha World Cup Video
We've also had the privilege of partnering with Alpha to create the first ever football focused Alpha
episode.
Filming has included Antning. £gmp.nyn, nAvid AIAha. Mark McKenzie and Naomi Layzell.
Alongside individual player stories, there will also be a 12 minute halftime film designed for
churches, events and football gathering5 during the World Cup.
Our vision is for this resource to reach over one million people globally and become a catalyst for
niaiiy to begin exploring faith.
BTG USA
In January 2026, we hosted our first ever Bridge the Gap Leaders Summit in Los Angeles.
Churches from LA, Phoenix and Portland gathered together for three days to hear the vision and
explore launching Bridge the Gap through their local churches.
The summit was a huge success, and since then we have launched our first three locations in the
Unilod States.
This June, members of our team will travel lo the USA to run soccer festivals around the World
Cup in partnership with Alpha USA. During halftime, we'll be showing the new Alpha and BTG
World Cup film and inviting hundreds of people to Alpha.
BTG Australia
Let me tell you about Sam.
Sam moved from Sydney to Oxford to join the School of Ministry at St Aldates. Within days of
arriving, he started attending Bridge the Gap and quickly became part of the leadership team.
When Sam moved back to Sydney after completing the year, he began asking Ihe question..
°How can we launch Bridge the Gap here?"
At the same time, Oscar had been invited to Bridge the Gap Bath. Oscar wasn't a Christian, but he
loved being part of the community. He started attending church and, at the end of the year, moved
lo Sydney.Naturally, the team in Bath were sad to see him go, especially as he hadn't yet made a
commitmeni io faith.

But one month lalei, Oscar FaceTimed the team from Sydney lo tell them he had given his life to
Jesus and had joined a church there. Amazingly, he had the same vision..
'How can we make Bridge the Gap happen in Sydney.
Following conversations with Bridge Church Sydney and the provision of initial funding, BTG
Sydney launched as a pilot eartier this year, with the vision of hosting a Leaders Summit later in
2026.

We are commilled to people coming to Bridge the Gap to find a sense of belonging, purpose and
connection, We strive to create safe environments for people to have open and honest
conversations about life, and how they truly are.

Our vision is to train, equip and empowei leaders across this country lo lead the Bridge the Gap
programme in their communities. Matthew 28'.19 says, Go and make disciples of all the nations.
We fee5 called to do this through football. We don't just want to give people a start-up manual
and some footballs,. we want lo support, encourage and develop our leaders. Not only in their
leadership but in their faith journeys loo.
-Transform Lives
There are millions of people who love football bul don't love Jesus. Foolball is an incredible tool
of common ground lo invite people lo. We want lo then build real trust and relationships with the
people that come to Bridge the Gap and see them coming onto the partner churches, Alpha
Courses and conneGt theiTI Iiilu Cliuibli lil¥.

As the charity's trustees of the Company land also its directors for the purposes of company lawl
you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the
Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Act,).

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the flnanclal statements
The financial slalements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under
FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP {FRS 1021
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to
charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and RepLJblic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019),, Financial
Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2006. The financial Statements have been
prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has
entitlement lo the funds, il is probable that the income will be received and the amount can
be measured reliably.
Expenditure

Bridge the Gaps, reserve policy is to maintain a sufficient level of reserves to cover its
working capital needs and lo protect against shortfalls in income. The trustee's policy is to
maintain free reserves equivalent to three months of routine operating expenditure to ensure
the ongoing security of the charity.

12. RELATEO PARTY DISCLOSURES
J Aske is an employee of Envista Branding Lld. During the year donations totalling £12,000
12025.. £12,000) were received from the company and goods purchased totalled £3,516.
{2025'. £4,869). During the year the company also donated goods valued at £5,720.
H Hawkings is an ernployee of Alpha International. During the year donations from Alpha
totalled £5,030, Merchandise sales lolalled £582 &'Site Fee income tolalled £2,250.
J Baineg a director of The. Atriijm Hg.Alth C.p.ntrg.. During thÈ year the chairty received
sponsorship income totalling £2,500.
J Finch is the Vicar and a member of the PCC of Sl Mary's church. During the year
donations totalling £1,200 and site fees totalling £2,950 were received from the church.
C Delve is a designated Member of Frog Consultants LLP. During the year services totalling
£425 were purchased from the LLP.
13. NATURE & PURPOSE OF EACH FUND
The specrfic purposes for which the funds are lo be applied are as follows..

Wates - The annual Wates games fundraiser event delivery.
Just Sow- Funding to support the growth of Youth & Women projects
Hope Street Church - A fund to assist with the salary of the Northern coordinator

East Anglia - A lund to support the project in the East Anglla reglon.
Youth - A fund to support the Youth project.

Barclays Bank- Donations for the purchase of footballs for sites.
Fulmer Charitable Trust- A fund to assist with the salary of the Northern coordinator
Lotto Community Fund - Staff funding for the South Wesl Coordinator
