The last year has been<br>an unprecedented year, volunteers have<br>supported Sakoon in the Community (SIK)<br>supporting vulnerable residents with<br>prescription collection, shopping and food<br>parcel donations.<br>We have delivered three volunteer training<br>sessions throughout the year via zoom to<br>keep all our volunteers engaged and<br>motivated focussing on wellbeing,<br>engagement and Instragram training.|

However as a<br>charity we are flexible and responsive.  As<br>the pandemic hit we set up Sakoon in the<br>Community (SIK) to support vulnerable<br>residents with grocery and prescription<br>collections.<br>Due to unprecedented times we all had to<br>think differentially and embrace the new<br>world of social distancing and hands, face<br>and space.  As Breast Cancer Charity<br>during Brest Cancer awareness month, we<br>did an Instagram take over, My Insta Story<br>were each day we would interview South<br>Asian Woman Cancer survivors focussing<br>on their journey and stories.  Story telling<br>was powerful in encouraging dialogue at a<br>community level.<br>During the pandemic we partnered with<br>Slough CVS and piloted a be-friending<br>service.  It was noted that South Asian<br>women felt extremely isolated trying to<br>combat their Cancer Diagnosis during lock<br>down and the taboos as a Community they<br>face.  We submitted a bid to Berkshire<br>Community Foundation and was successful<br>in securing £2500 to maintain our back<br>office function, develop our new website<br>and we held 3 volunteer meetings and held<br>a beautiful afternoon tea at Burnham<br>Beeches Hotel in celebration of Volunteers<br>Week.  All of our images are captured on<br>our Facebook and Instragram pages.  We<br>have developed a new website with<br>information videos and a commercial page<br>for selling items our shop<br>www.sakoonthroughcancer.organd created<br>a newsletter with a sign up database.<br>We engaged on a number of talks to raise<br>awareness with business and community.<br>The talks range from Woman ESOL<br>classes, Asian Woman Resource Centres<br>and wider community events.  Following on<br>from October Breast Cancer awareness<br>sessions online we developed the Big|
