## Annual Financial Report

This annual report covers a period from 01/08/23 to 31/07/24.

Our Charity Commission annual return is due on 30[th] May each year and is next due 30[th] May 2025.

The charity is run by parents, friends and school staff, with the purpose of raising funds for the school to provide activities, facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

During this period we have raised £926 from our second hand uniform shop.

We held a successful disco for Year 7 which raised £469

We sold leavers hoodies to years 11 at TS and TGS as well as hoodies to Yr 6 at CJS and made a total profit od £1032. Online fundraising from Easy Fundraising and Stikins brought in £185 during the year. Our School Lottery raised us £948.

We served refreshments at events during the school year including the Our House production which raised a total of £629.

We received a donation from the BH Lottery for £5,000 and from the Christchurch CAB £4364, both to go towards the outdoor courtyard product. (this joins the £1000 we had from waitrose last year)

Most of our efforts this year have been in getting grants to go towards our outdoor courtyard space. We will also receive £15,600 from the Talbot Trust.

We currently have £19,906 in our bank account, of which £17364 is ringfenced for the outdoor courtyard.

## Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of the

## FRIENDS OF TWYNHAM

I report on accounts of the Friends of Twynham for the period 1[st] August 2023 to 31[st] July 2024

## Respectve responsibilites of trustees and examiner

The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this period (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

- Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

- Follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and

- State whether particular matters have come to my attention

## Basis of examiners Report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair” view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## Independent Examiner’s Statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

   - To keep accounting records in accordance with Section 130 of the 2011 Act; and

   - To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act

have not been met, or

2. To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
