INCIDENTS There had been no serious incidents that were required to be brO￿Jh1 lo the Charities Commission's allenlion. CHARITY COMMISSION ANNUAL REPORT The Charity Commission Annual Report for Renew Church has been submitted online once again this year. ACcou￿r8 2024 has seen anDlher positive yearwilh regards lo the activities and selv￿eS that we provide and has been anolheryearof progress in maintaining our facilities through the completion ol maintenance and building improvements, We are the official Foodbank lor the Uttoxeler area and our food bank commitments have confy'nued in this period as did our attempts lo support those Continui￿ lo struggle within our community spiritually, emoliondly and phys￿allY. Income Overall, the total incoming resource in the period was £224,045,00 which has decreased from 2023, however, this is mainly due to the Church being left an incredibly generou5 legacy donation in September 2023. Due to Ihis donation. and the mney we still have in our Kingdom Bank Savings Account, the Iruslees decided lo open a second Higher Rate Savings accounl through Cambridge and Counties Bank until the Church requires the funds for any future projects or local Chu¥ch plants, The charity continues to remain actively in control of ils financial situation. Our policy is lo hold our RESERVES in the HighèT Rale Savings Account, Expenditure Overall, the expenditure in the period was £204,904.00,. which is a decrease ol our expenditure amount in 2023, As mentioned abowe the Church has a savings account with Kiiigdom Bank and opened a new one with Cambridge and Counties and moved a large amount into these accounts. We have continued with ou¥ chaTitable giving allowing us lo be able lo support and give to campaigns and organisalions when needed as well as providing OUt￿a¢h ac15vities in our local communily. Richard Bullock On behalf of the Board of Trustees RENEW CHURCH TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FROM I JANUARY 2024 TO 31 DECEMBER 2024 THE ADVANCEMENT OF RELIGION FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT AIMS We aim to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. We believe that a personal belief in God should be exefflplified, globally and locally. by Christians putting God's love Into practice with worthy actions and honourable deeds that benefit the community at large. Consequently, we aim to have a positive effect on our community in Uttoxeter and the surrounding villages. We aim to support the local schools, supplement the education of children by offering a moral and ethical framework through the teaching of Christian principles. We alm to assist the spiritual wellbeing of people of all ages in our community. We provide regular wellbeing support through our Warm Welcome Cafe as part of our Uttoxeter Foodbank. The elderly alsD have access to the church for warm me21s that are provided each week. IDENTIFIABLE BENEFITS FOR THE PUBLIC Renew Church offers 3 venue for the public with positive activities for people of all ages. In line with increasing internet use, Renew maintains a website, www.renewchurch.co.uk, for access to further information about the Church by the general public. The Church continued to live stream Services online via YouTube and Facebook. The Church endeavours to provide all our activities and groups free of charge so they are accessible to people from every social walk of life. Our toddler grDUP, Roar, ran sessions on a Wednesday morning and afternoon and is an asset to those in our local community providing a safe place for parents/carers and their children to come and chat, play and engage in a variety of other actlvities. We also continued our group for new parents Wlth pre-walking children called Little Pups which gives a great opportunity for people to come and relax, chat and have 3 drink wlth new parentslcarers who may not feel cornfortable in a larger setting with older children runlling around. Renew Church continued with our Friday lunch club for the over 60s in our community. They are welcomed into the building for a warm meal, fun game5 and the ability to 51t and talk with those their age in a caring environment. This is a group we are especially pa55ionate about as for several of the elderly In our community this is the only time in the week that they can participate in Something like thls. We have a dedicated room for the children and young people that Is used on a Sunday morning for Sunday School and Friday evening5 for a time when the youth can meet weekly for a fun evening of music, dlscussions, prayer and faith-based talk5. Our young people are also taken annually to a Christian summer youth festival where they can meet and socialise with like-minded peers as well as take part in the activities, services and seminars provided. Our Warm Welcome Café as part of our food bank on a Monday morning continues to be a huge success. This is a place where local families who are suffering from ill health and associated with poverty are temporarily assisted with food parcels andlor can sit and have a warm drink and slice of cake and talk with one of our volunteers. Referrals to other service providers are made when necessary to ensure that they are getting the all-round support that they need. Renew Church holds regular Men's and Women'5 events throtjghout the year for members of the Church which also provide great opportunities to bring non-church friends and family members to smaller gathering5 and hear Biblical encour2gement or stories from Church members. These range from breakfast's, afternoon sweet treat5 to games nights and meals at local restaurants. We aim to make most of these events and activities are free of charge if they happen in the Church building. Renew Church has added to its number of very talented musicians. The group play various instruments and sin8 together providing the music during our services every Sunday throughout the year. They have regular practices together and are developin8 their talents and skills on an ongoing basis. On Sunday's Christian religious Services are held at Renew Church. These are open to all people of different ethnic backgrounds and all age groups. The service5 are generally times of joyful and exuberant praise and worship to God, but time is also allowed for reflection and prayer. There is always a friendly welcome for people attending Sunday service5. We have two sessions for our youngost members with 'Roar Sunday, group for ages 2-4 years as well as our Sunday School 'Tribe' for those ages 4-11 year5 old,. in these sessions the children Ean play games, hear Bible based Stories and do craft activities. The coffee-bar is open after the services where tea and coffee is provided and served free of charge. Renew Church is also a base from which other activities take place to benefit the general public: Donations have been made to various charities throughout the year to support people in their times of need. We linked up with Places of Welcome and opened an evening Craft Group forthe community which was very well attended. Local families who are having difficulties financially can come at various times within the year for our School Uniform Mornings where they can have a look through, and select free of charge, items of good quality, used uniform that have been donated to the Church for their children. The Church also held several free event5 including a Nativity performance in December as part of our Christmas Carol Service, a Light Party in October, a Lunch with Santa event on Christmas Eve and an Easter meal and hunt. All the events were well attended and great opportunities for members of the Church and local community to come engage with. A small group of people also attended Big Church Festival during the May bank holiday weekend, joining with thousands of other Christians and providing another opportunity to build community. Members of the Church went on two mission trips to Romania to volunteer with an organisation there working with local children, vulnerable women in the community and to help with some practical needs, for example gardening and house maintenance. Renew Church is working with the local agencies on an ongoing basis to identify the local needs where we can provide support and have a positive impact for the good of the local community.
