This charity is goveined by virtue of constitution, which was adopted on 20111 March 2019 as
amended on 02 Feb 2020 as amended on 13 June 2023.

l. Objectives
The objectives of Gurdwara Karam Ishersar Sewa & Simran Society are:
(l) To advance the Sikh religion in Southall, London and the surrounding areas for the benefit
of the public through the provision of a place of worship, and the holding of prayer meetings,
lectures, and public celebration of religious festivals.
(11) To act as a resource for young people living in Southall, London and the surrounding areas
by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and
other activities as a means of:
a. Advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and
capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and
responsible individuals;
b. Advancing education; and
c. providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for
people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age,
infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to
improving the conditions of life of such persons.

2. Activities Undertaken to Achieve Objectives
The charity delivers its objectives through religious, educational, youth development,
cultural, recreational, and humanitarian activities in both the United Kingdom and overseas.
A. Religious Advancement and Cultural Education (UK)
To advance the Sikh religion and promote spiritual and moral development, the charity
organises a range of Gurmat (Sikh religious) classes in Southall.
Kirtan Classes
Teaching traditional Sikh devotional music
Educating young people in religious musical heritage
Promoting discipline, focus and spiritual growth

Punjabi and Santhiya Classes
Teaching the Punjabi language
Providing education on Sikh scriptures, Sikh history and religious teachings
Supporting moral development and confidence building
Encouraging meditation (Simran) and understanding of selfless service (Seva)
Dastaar (Turban-Tying) Classes
Teaching young people how to tie the Sikh turban
Encouraging confidence in embracing Sikh identity and heritage
Promoting self-esteem, belonging and cultural pride
These activities advance religion, education, and cultural heritage while helping young people
develop identity, values, and confidence.
B. Youth Development, Recreation and Wellbeing
Gatka Classes
eaching traditional Sikh martial arts
Promoting physical fitness, discipline and self-control
Preserving Sikh cultural heritage
Encouraging teamwork and respect
Football and Sports Activities
The charity organises football events and other sports activities which:
Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles
Encourage teamwork, cooperation and discipline
Support mental wellbeing through active recreation
Provide positive social engagement and reduce social isolation
Youth Camps
Youth camps are organised with structured activities that:
Promote community spirit and social inclusion
Develop teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving skills
Build leadership abilities and resilience
Increase confidence and communication skills
These programmes support personal development and help young people become
independent, mature and responsible individuals.
C. Overseas Cultural and Identity Support
Dastaar Camps in India
The charity runs Dastaar camps in India where young people are:
Encouraged to embrace their Sikh identity
Supported in building confidence and self-respect
Educated about Sikh values and traditions
These initiatives promote moral development, identity, and cultural continuitv

3. Achievements and Impact
During the year, the charity:
Delivered religious and educational classes to young people in Southall and places
across the UK.
Improved youth confidence, identity, cultural awareness, and life skills
Promoted physical health through sports, Gatka, and recreational activities
4. Public Benefit
The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the
Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.
The charity provides public benefit by:
Advancing religion and spiritual wellbeing
Advancing education and cultural knowledge
Developing young people's skills, confidence and social participation
Promoting physical health and discipline through sports and martial arts
5. Volunteers
Most of the charity's work is carried out by dedicated volunteers in both the UK and India.
Their contribution is essential to delivering programmes, identifying families in need, and
carrying out charity activities.
6. Governance
The charity is managed by its trustees, who meet regularly to oversee activities, ensure funds
are used appropriately, and confirm that all work aligns with the charity's objectives and legal
responsibilities.
7. Future Plans
Gurdwara Karam Ishersar Sewa & Simran Society plans to build on its existing religious,
educational and youth-focused activities to further benefit the community in the UK and
overseas.
The charity aims to strengthen and expand Gurmat, Kirtan, Punjabi, Santhiya and Simran
classes to support spiritual growth, moral development and cultural education among
children and young people. Structured learning opportunities will continue to encourage
understanding of Sikh values, identity and selfless service.
Youth development will remain a key focus. The charity plans to expand Gatka, sports
activities and youth camps that promote physical health, teamwork, discipline, leadership and
wellbeing. These activities will help young people develop confidence, resilience and life skills,
supporting their positive participation in societv.

Overseas, the charity intends to continue and develop Dastaar camps and cultural identity
programmes in India, supporting young people in embracing Sikh heritage, confidence and
moral values through partnership working.
The charity will also invest in volunteer development by recruiting and supporting volunteers
and ensuring appropriate training and safeguarding awareness. Trustees will continue to
strengthen governance, seek sustainable funding, monitor impact and ensure compliance
with Charity Commission guidance, enabling the charity to deliver ongoing public benefit and
long-term community impact.

I report to the trustees on my examinalion of the accounts of the above
charity {"the Trust") for the year ended 3110312025.
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
{"the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145{5)(bl of the Act.
