**Objects:** 3.1 The objects of the CIO are to advance the education of the public and to advance heritage, including conservation and preservation: 3.1.1 in and through the public records held under the supervision of the Keeper of Public Records and the manuscripts, records and archives overseen by the Historical Manuscripts Commissioner; and 3.1.2 in and through projects which advance public understanding of the archive sector and use of archival heritage.
