Trustees Annual Report
Our Vision
Revive Darul Arqam works with international scholars to sustain isolated impoverished and war-torn communities in order to alleviate poverty. Long term sustainability is a key focus in order to support victims of war to begin rebuilding their lives. Revive donates life essential humanitarian aid with an increasing focus on providing opportunities for refugees to create their own income, in order to regain independence for long-term security. Distribution with revive ensures that aid reaches the most impoverished victims of war, by working with networks of local Scholars to the regions in which aid is being distributed.
Activities
Revive Darul Arqam is an international humanitarian aid relief charity specialising in delivering aid to isolated, war-torn communities by utilising the guidance of local scholars. Operating specifically in Syria, Yemen and Bosnia. Revive also responds to international humanitarian aid disasters in other regions, when the need arises. The charity has a number of key projects, as outlined in this document. By focusing efforts in key areas, revive seeks to make a longterm impact in the areas we operate. We seek to liberate people out of poverty into longterm sustainability of the basic needs of life.
Operational Strategy
With a focus on keeping distribution costs to a minimum, revive operates from within the offices of charity Darul Arqam Educational Trust (DA Trust), from which the humanitarian aid project was founded. Grants are made from DA Trust to Revive in order to subsidise operational costs and protect the use of donation funds purely for their intended purpose, to reach the beneficiary. Distribution is overseen by international scholars and costs are minimised by distributing aid through professional friendship with their registered NGO teams. Revive is committed long-term to growing in a way which is sustainable to protect donation funds long-term and therefore utilises volunteers and community efforts when possible in order to drive fundraising efforts with minimal costs. Staff are employed to oversee and ensure professional management of the charity.

Achievements
Local Public Benefit
Initiatives and events hosted by Revive and charity DA Trust, benefit communities near and far by providing inclusive services and events whose proceeds provide funds for international humanitarian aid efforts. Recent examples are the summer and winter hikes, Monthly Ladies Takeover Evenings, Concerts, Fundraising Meals and Summer Family Fun Day. All local activities are funded through registration costs and ticket sales. All profits and proceeds are used as contributions towards Revives humanitarian work.
International Benefit
Syria
Revive has an ongoing presence distributing aid in rural Idlib, Afrin, Rasal-Ayn and Aleppo which continued. Due to the liberation of Syria on the 8[th] December 2024 our humanitarian efforts expanded in to other areas namely Homs and various districts of Damascus. In 20242025, Revive was able to establish mass distribution of bread bundles in 7 rural locations, to isolated communities with weekly distributions taking place amounting to a more than 60,000 bread loaves per month. This distribution takes place regularly throughout the month. This is additional to food packages, water, clothes distributions and also house repairs to provide families with living accommodation. Sponsorship of Syrian orphans is also an ongoing project. We have also initiated water distribution plants throughout Syria – the locations include A’zaz, Afrin, Ras al-Ayn. These provide water and irrigation for tens of thousands of beneficiaries and has caused a rejuvenation of both vegetation, crops and return immigration in previously deserted areas. We have also initiated many endowments for the poor such as al-Barakah Eco Farm which produces milk and cheese for distribution, plastic moulding factory, and flavoured milk factory. Many community areas were also established based around a communal prayer space.
Yemen
Water distribution, food distribution, bread distribution. Distribution in Yemen works closely with local partners to ensure aid only reaches those in absolute need.
Bosnia
Sponsorship of war victims, with a strong focus on widows and children living in isolated, deprived areas. This project sponsors impoverished Bosnian war victims for an entire year, to enable beneficiaries to have peace of mind that their basic needs are met. We also helped to raise funds for long term projects. One such project we have is to regenerate farming of cash crops in fertile land in Bosnia – we have started this farming project and it employs local Bosnians who are in poverty and it also produces a produce which can be sold. It is self sustaining. Also we continue to fund the medical clinic in an area in which the nearest hospital is some one hours journey by car. This serves a potential of 20,000 local rural residents. Food distribution projects continue to impoverished families in the region. Food stocks were distributed through the year within the region some 360,000 meals.

Gaza :
Due to the barricading of the entry points of aid from the various crossings in Gaza Revive continued its emergency humanitarian aid in Gaza, including essential supplies, water, shelter, sanitation, medical tents, adhoc primitive bakeries [due to the lack of infrastructure] and hot food distribution, to support tens of thousands affected by the conflict.
Ramadan 2025
Syria :
In Ramadan 2025 continuing from last year we shifted our focus from providing hot meals to a combination of hot food and food parcels, to increase sustainability of food provision beyond Ramadan for the coming year. This enabled us to focus on increasing our efforts of bread distribution, which brings longer term benefit for Syrian refugees, for the year ahead. This allowed the continuation of the multiple bread factory. The distribution took place in rural Afrin, al-Bab, Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Ras al-Ayn and in camp areas around Aleppo. Furthermore more than 250,00 meals were organised for refugees and orphaned communities in camps around rural Aleppo and Afrin. We also renewed our funding for various orphans which have been adopted. Syria was the distribution point for our Zakat alFitr (post Ramadhan charity).
We continued with our vision of establishing long term self sustaining projects – part of this included the continued operation of the plastic injection moulding plant, flavoured milk cartons factory and a further water sanitization and distribution plants, bringing our total up to four. All these projects are self sustaining and distribution takes place to the poor and vulnerable. This year we also commissioned the establishment of bovine farm which will provide milk, cheese, meat and water (water for farmers in the local areas). The project will be self sustaining as a portion of the sale of the produce will be used for the upkeep of the farm and remainder will be distributed to the poor and needy.
Ras al-Ayn, Syria was a new area which Revive Darul Arqam have started working in last year. It used to be arable farm land which has been rendered wasteland due the previous oppressive government of Asad starved of water a policy of collective punishment. We have reinstated the previous infrastructure providing water to 40,000 people – by installing solar operated distillation plants. A regular bread distribution takes place for the daily needs of the Ras al-Ayn community – more than 12,000 loaves of bread are distributed weekly. We are in the process of identifying other such plants which can be reinstated. We also distributed food stocks which covered the needs of more than 100,000 people. Last year the intense need for a mosque was also enacted in this area by the name of Masjid al-Fath. This year we provided the accompanying needs of this locality by wash facilities and a accompanying well.

Yemen :
Water distribution, food distribution, bread distribution and orphan sponsorship. Distribution in Yemen works closely with local scholars to ensure aid only reaches those in absolute need. More than 100,000 beneficiaries over the various projects.
Bosnia :
We established long-term sustainable projects in Bosnia by establishing strawberry farms. These farms are entrusted to impoverished families who earn a living from cultivating the farm and selling strawberries grown from them. During Ramadan, families were donated food parcels each to sustain them for at least 6 weeks. The beneficiaries from these parcels 250,000.
Gaza :
The humanitarian disaster precipitated by war Revive has been on the ground for emergency supplies and longer term aid efforts. Prior to the start of the war Revive had limited projects in Gaza. Our infrastructure present in Gaza meant that when the war started on October 7[th] 2023 we were able to deliver emergency aid rapidly and to present the various longer term projects. These projects include de-salinization plants, furnished tent villages, sanitisation tents and supplies, continuous bread distribution which benefits a thousand people daily, establishing field bakeries, food coupon distribution and cooked meals. Future Direction
Revive continues to focus efforts on sustaining long-term needs and independence of wartorn communities. A continuation of maintaining a balance between distribution of life-saving emergency aid to impoverished communities who have no other means of meeting their short-term needs, with focus on generating long-term sustainability. Revive is looking to establish further endowment (Waqf) projects to ensure long-terms generations of funds to added security for those we seek to benefit.
Fundraising
Public donations currently make up majority of Revive’s funds, with occasional ad-hoc grant’s.
Fund Reserves
Revive commits to distribute funds as soon as operationally possible and to a maximum of within 12 months of donation. Gift Aid funds are used towards operational aspects of the charity and where possible, funds long term endowment projects (Waqf) projects for longterm security of refugees and to cover costs of other fundraising activities. We seek to distribute aid steadily and consistently, so that refugee communities are not left suddenly without aid donation support. A portion of funds in the account during July 2025 are funds raised for bread factory, which are due to renew annually every year and will be sent forward

for this purpose. Orphan sponsorships are also allocated annually, so to reduce loss of funds due to bank fees and currency conversions.

Revive Darul Arqam is constituted as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission under charity number 1187831. It is governed by a CIO constitution adopted on 13th September 2019.

| I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/06/2025 As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. The charity’s gross income exceeded £250,000 and I am qualified to undertake the examination by being a qualified member of CPAA. |
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
