The Dorset Disabled Canoe Unit is a British Canoeing affiliated club established approximately 20 years ago to provide a safe and friendly environment for people with disabilities to take to the water in canoes and kayaks. The club is based on the bank of the River Stour near Christchurch in Dorset. The club operates fortnightly paddling sessions on a Sunday afternoon from April until September.

Objects: The Promotion Of Community Participation In Healthy Recreation, And In Particular But Not Exclusively Among People With Disabilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare With The Object Of Improving Their Conditions Of Life, By The Provision Of Facilities For Participating In Canoeing And Kayaking (“Facilities” Means Land, Buildings, Equipment, Access To Coaching And Organising Sporting Activities).
