We promote social harmony and tolerance between other faiths through counseling, group support, art therapy and providing a safe circle to meet the needs of people. As it is seen many students, writers, community leaders and essential workers have received help 3 years in a row absolutely free of charge. We estimate a service valued at 3,850 pounds has been delivered online and face to face showing the value of our charitable work. As a result more people have improved mental health, avoided suicide and self-harm, worked through difficulty, built better relationships, found legal advice, applied for financial help, avoided poverty and hunger, broken cultural barriers and stigma of racism and learnt to find safety in tough situations.
Activities
HEMMAH has a virtual mental health department, a goodwill department and a literacy department.
Beneficiaries will access the appropriate department to relieve mental health, hunger, poverty or receive some literacy support depending on their need. It has allowed HEMMAH to help more people despite the decrease in operational hours. In 2023 we will be significantly increasing hours in time for December 2023 inshaAllah with more food, art therapy, engagement with local groups and diversity support which will strengthen the community work we engage in. HEMMAH GB has forwarded information helpful to beneficiaries who are sign posted to other local organizations who can provide for needs, such as food bank access, and breakfast at local charities in the Swindon area.
The goodwill department helped vulnerable women secure external donations from UK charities. The literacy department helped translate CVs for job seeking women and coached some Arabic/Asian/African women to practice English for prospective work.
The mental health department purchased some resources for supporting the mental health of victims of trauma, stress and separation.
HEMMAH GB has had beneficiaries from the United Kingdom and all around the World.
