A¢hievements and performanGe
Durlng thls flrtancial year EPIC Teesslde CIO have experlenced several changes. Flrslly, our CEO Paul
Surtees retired after 8 successful years bulldlng the organisatlon. Paul is now a Iruslee and continues
lo be a valued member sharing hls many years of youth and community development experience.
Some of our key achievement8 are outlined below.
Our first key 8chi8v8menls is our partnership working which has further devèloped during this financial
y8ar.
During this period, we hav8 appointed a community development co-ordSnalor lo work alongside JulSe
Derbyshire our Community Development Manager. Our community development Co￿rdinal0r work$
very closely with all partners leadlng on new aclivilies, consulting wllh the Communlty and ernsuring our
delivery meets the needs of local people of all ages.
Epi¢ have ¢onlinu&d lo work In partnershlp with Shape the Play and Easlarn Ravens Trust. We have
developed a new partner8hip with Groundwork NE. Epic Tetrsslde commlsslon Groundwork to deliver
20hours per week communlly éevelopment aellvity wilhln the Prfrnrose Hill Communlly Centre which
Includes Deliverlng a Youth Club for S- to 8-year-olds, Mother and Toddler Group, Hollday Programmes
for 5- 10 8-year￿IdS, Grow Your Own Prolect, cooking courses and Demenlla and Parklnson's Friendly
support group.
Shape The Play - oontlnue lo work very olo$e wllh Epic Teesslde providin9 lols of health acllvllles on
regular basis as well as parllclpallng in one-off projects. Our relalionshlp with STP will continue lo grow
and develop durlng the forthcomlng year.
Eastérn Rav8ns Trust {ERT} have contlnued lo work In partnership with Eplc to deliver our hollday
activity programmes for 8- 10 14-year-olds. ERT continue to deliver our youth work for 8- 10 14-year-
olds. We have worked with Eastern Ravens Tru51 for many y83r5, staff, young people, pa￿￿ts and
guardians value the relationships and trust we all have with the t8am.
Thlrteen Houslng Group.. We are extremely grateful to Thirteen Housing Group for both financlal 8UPPOrt
and Team support they provide lo us. As we Gonlinuo to deliver our Ihemed a¢liviti¢s durlng the ye8r
Thirteen are always alongsido our team providing extra resources both in monetary terms and staff
resources. We work with Thirteen Housing Group and our local ¢ommunlly members to ensure we keep
Primrose Eslale ¢lean and tldy by Carrying out rogular estate clean ups.
Our Frlendshlp Group conllnues lo thrive meellng twlce weekly provldlng support lo each other. raising
funds and golng on Irlps.
Funders - Rea¢hing Gommunilies, Tudor Trust, Ballinger Trust have ¢ontinued lo provide outstanding
support, advice and guid8n¢e which we value. In July 24 our funding with Reaching Communities cam8
lo an end. Reaching Communities funding gave Epic the opportunily lo achieve our goals lo grow and
deliver an oul$tsnding programme of aGtivilies. We are extremely grateful to Ballinger Trust for
continuing lo believ8 in our vision to ensure Newiown and Primrose Hill Community Centre is the plac8
lo live, work, play. socialise. and receive support and friendship.
Suslalnablllty- we are currently working.with our partners to develop and submit a partnership bid lo
National Lollery Lommunily Pund lo ensure we can con11nue to deliver OLtr existing programmes and
develop new activities to meet the needs of our commL¢nity. The Chair would like lo thank the stsff,
volunteers, partners and the communlty for supporting Epic Teesside. We look forward to another

Financial review
The results for the perlod are reflected in the Statement of Financlal Activities in the accoun15. The
accoun15 for the year show a deficit of £55,248. The reserves stand al £73,79D with £54,635 being
unre5tr1cted free reserves. Thls equate5 to approxlmalely 6 months running costs.
Re$erves Poli¢y
The Iruslee's aim is to expend all funds on their charitable obje¢ls', howevér, thèy recognise the need to
maintain a certain level of reserves 88 a cushion against possible future diffioullies. Free reserves al the
level of 9 months running cosls would allow th8 charity lo continue its operallons while alternativ•
funding sources were sought.
