Annual Trustees’ Report: Eyton Extras

1. Objectives and Activities
The core mission of Eyton Extra remains the provision of a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 4 - 11 during out-of-school hours. Our primary objectives this year focused on:

Holistic Development: Providing play-based learning that supports social, emotional, and physical growth.

Accessibility: Ensuring our services remain affordable and accessible to working families within the community.

Well-being: Implementing structured "quiet zones" and mental health check-ins to support post-school decompression.
2. Achievements and Performance
This year has been characterized by a continued need for the club to run, and a steady number of children use the club on a week-to-week basis.

The club has used the LEA to provide activities for the children, that increased the number of children attending for the period of time that activities ran.

Christian craft has been very popular, with children being creative on a weekly basis and producing different products linked to a variety of themes.

Staff Development: 100% of our lead practitioners completed advanced safeguarding and pediatric first-aid certifications, maintaining our commitment to the highest safety standards.

New equipment for outdoor play has been provided through donation from a local secondary school.
3. Structure, Governance, and Management
Eyton Extras is governed by a Board of Trustees who meet quarterly to review strategic goals and compliance.
- Risk Management: The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, particularly regarding child safety and financial fluctuations. Systems are in place to mitigate these, including regular internal audits.
4. Future Plans
Looking ahead to the 2026 academic year, the Trustees have identified three priority areas:

Grant Acquisition: Seeking external funding to subsidize activities for the children to take part in.

Expenditure reduction: In order for the club to save money we are asking parents/carers to send pupils in with their own snacks, therefore keeping club costs down as well as ensuring that the children have a snack that they enjoy.

Continued activity variety: Trying to ensure that the activities offered are well received by the children that attend club as well as hopefully attracting new members to use the club on a regular basis.
