**Objectives and activities**

## **Section C**

The purpose (‘objects’) of the association is to advance the education of all pupils in the school in particular by: a) Raising funds for school enrichment activities, ensuring an equal experience for all children, including those who are disadvantaged. b) Celebrating and promoting our diverse school community to **Summary of the objects of the** create a friendly, inclusive environment **charity set out in its governing** c) Providing extra opportunities to have fun at school **document** d) Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school Belmont Families exists to support both Belmont Infant School and Belmont Junior School equally. Fundraising A total of **£29,702** was raised through events and donations during this financial year. The events included Pyjama Day, a cake, book and fancy-dress sale, a Winter disco, a wreath making workshop, an Ice Skating Disco, Quiz night, Wacky Hair Day, ice-cream sales and a Summer Fair. We were very fortunate to earn £15.5k through the Netflix match funding scheme we were signed up to by a parent. Celebrating and promoting diversity When planning our events, we have tried to make sure that they are inclusive and appealing to a wide range of children and parents. At our events, with the exception of Quiz Night where only adults were invited, we decided not to serve alcohol (so as to not exclude some families) and to make sure there was plenty of vegetarian, vegan and Halal food. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public** Opportunities to have fun at school **benefit in relation to these objects (include within this** Pyjama Day and Wacky Hair Day were back by popular demand again **section the statutory** this year! We were very grateful to both schools for hosting the Winter **declaration that trustees have** disco and Summer Fair at the weekend which enabled the whole school **had regard to the guidance** community to get together on familiar territory. The money which we **issued by the Charity** have raised will go a long way to pay for fun activities at school from **Commission on public benefit)** artist visits to pantomimes. It will mean that the children can go on school trips and that these are enhanced by extra special activities like sailing and pony trekking.

Developing effective relationships Belmont Families have set up and frequently use WhatsApp groups for each class or year group. This helps to communicate what events are taking place and allows parents to interact with each other. We are grateful to the school office staff who have helped us send out communications to parents via email. Staff have helped out at the Winter disco and Summer fair and good relationships between the Headteachers and the Committee have continued.

## Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

## Fundraising

We have had an extremely busy and successful year. We have considered what happened in the previous year and made strategic choices which benefited the earnings of the charity. As our volunteers had less time available, we focused on the activities that added the highest value. We purposefully reduced the number of activities to make things more manageable for the volunteers we have.
