Trustees are elected by Association members and at a minimum consist of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer. The Committee of the Association may appoint such other Trustees as may from time to time be deemed necessary. 

All trustees have served throughout the year and will continue until at least the next AGM scheduled for 20[th] September 2022. 

The business of the Association is managed by a Committee of 9 members, consisting of: a) Chairperson

- d) 2 x Volunteer Co-ordinators 

- e) Purchasing Co-ordinator f) Local Business Liaison Co-ordinator g) Grants Secretary 

The Committee, 7 of whom are also the charity trustees, are responsible for the overall management and control of Belmont Families and are supported by class reps and parent/carer and teacher volunteers. The Association meets approximately 5 times a year and more regularly in smaller Committee working groups for specific events.

|||Fundraising<br>A total of**£43,189**was raised through events and donations during this<br>financial year. The events included Pyjama Day, a cake and toy sale, the<br>Kids’ Art Printing Project, a Winter Fair, a Christmas online pop-up shop,<br>a wreath making workshop, three Ice Skating Discos, a cake and book<br>sale, Crazy Hair Day, ice-cream and snack sales and a Summer Fair.<br>Laurence Cummings, headteacher of the Junior School raised a large<br>amount of money by cycling the length of the country and we were very<br>fortunate to be signed up to the Netflix match funding scheme by a<br>parent. Our funds were also boosted through the easyfundraising.com<br>scheme and Gift Aid.<br>Celebrating and promoting diversity<br>When planning our events, we have tried to make sure that they are<br>inclusive and appealing to a wide range of children and parents. We<br>decided to have a Winter Fair as opposed to a Christmas Fair in order to<br>appeal to families of all faiths and none. At our events we decided not to<br>serve alcohol (so as to not exclude some families) and to make sure<br>there was plenty of vegetarian, vegan and Halal food. Our Summer Fair<br>poster was designed to celebrate the diversity of backgrounds our<br>children come from.<br>Opportunities to have fun at school<br>Pyjama Day and Crazy Hair Day were back by popular demand this year!<br>We were very grateful to both schools for hosting the Winter and Summer<br>Fairs at the weekend which enabled the whole school community to get<br>together on familiar territory. The money which we have raised will go a<br>long way to pay for fun activities at school from artist visits to pantomimes.<br>It will mean that the children can go on school trips and that these are<br>enhanced by extra special activities like sailing and pony trekking.<br>Developing effective relationships<br>Belmont Families have set up and frequently use WhatsApp groups for<br>each class or year group. This helps to communicate what events are<br>taking place and allows parents to interact with each other. We are<br>grateful to the school office staff who have helped us send out<br>communications to parents via email. Staff have helped out at the Winter<br>and Summer Fairs and good relationships between the Headteachers<br>and the Committee have continued.|

## Statutory declaration 

The Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Association’s aims and objectives and in planning future activities. 

All trustees give of their time freely and no benefit including remuneration or expenses were paid in the year.

We are grateful for the many hours volunteers spent organising events and helping with the running of the charity. Without this valuable contribution of time, energy and expertise we would not have been able to achieve so much.

Fundraising 

We have had an extremely busy and successful year. We were delighted to be able to return to in-person events and have made the most of all the opportunities. We have tried to add extra activities into traditional events to maximise the fundraising potential of each event. For example, we have held cake sales with additional elements like toy or book sales and a chocolate egg tombola to raise more money and make the events extra fun.

**Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves** 

There is no policy on reserves. However, the Treasurer maintains enough money in the account to cover forthcoming expenses such as event set up costs, floats and licences. At no point in the year was the account overdrawn. 

At the beginning of the year, we had total funds of £6,440 across our bank account and cash. 

During the year we had incoming funds of £43,829 and we paid £26,000 to the two schools. 

At the end of the year, we had a total cash balance of £24,270 available for future distributions.
