Mr Ba￿ Gold Treasurer 2. tady Fersht (Marfrlyn) Chalrman Structurep governance and management The CIRA became a CIO on 29 January 2020 with a Constitution after many years of being an unincorporated charity. It is managed by an elected committee of 12 members of the organisation including the two trustees. We have held 5 committee meetings and one AGM duringthe period ofthis reporL All ofthem and the AGM were held on Zoom. We shall recruit more trustees from among the elected committee later in 2022. All are volunteers. We also have many other volunteers who help run our dlfferent groups, in particular. a cross community welfare support group. which has been very active during the pandemlc. Our members are charged a small sub5crlption of £30 per annum per person. Our Income Is derived from subscrlptions, donations. bank interest and gift aid. We have been runnlng the Unincorporated CIRA CharEty and the Incorporated charity side by side. Each charity has two bank accounts. one for the CJRA general operation and the other for the CIRA Burial Society. The Unincorporated Charity was finally closed in May 2022. All Unincorporated Bank Cash Assets were transferred to the respertive CIO bank accounts. All Unincorporated Investments were transferred to CIO investment accounts. We have approximately 150 ￿11 members and a few non-lewish associate members. who receive our magazine. Objectives and Artlvities Our purpose is the advancement of the lewish faith through the provision of religious services and burial. education to advance jewish culture. history and knowledge and to provide welfare for those in need. We are always open to those outside the Jewish faith, who would like to advance their knowledge of our

religion. history. customs and culture. Entry to most of our talks and events is free. We give financial support for the niaintenance of the Synagogue buildlng in Thompson's lane. Cambridge. The University of Cambridge Jewish Society runs the Synagogue with help from Jewish residents. Religious services took place In person with strict ￿￿e5 during the pandemic, which have continued. During the pandemic we were able to keep in touch with our members and other tnterested persons through email and zoonL Our online talks saw a substantial increase of attendees and we plan to continue thfis way. We were unable to hold our usual Chanukah Party in person but on 5 December 2021 we held it online by lighting the candles and eating traditional food from the comfort of our own homes, listening to our locally based Kol Echad Choir. who sang a programme of Jewish songs and ending with a quiz devised by one of our members. This was an event open to all the Jewish groups in Cambridge and it was well attended. We held In person an Israel Independence celebration on 5 May 2022 with the screening of an Israell film, The Women's Gallerf in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies in the UnlversSty of Cambridge. The introduction to the film and the discussion afterwards were led by an Israell faculty member. Our Evening Talks programme: There were eight talks, and these continued online. They are attrdcting people of all ages often with thlrty devices and above. The monthly Monday afternoon meetings ofthe Cambridge lewlsh Cultural Association continued online and were well attended. We intend to hold meetings in person over the summer month& We have continued to send out In the post three magazines a year, which contain inforniation of all that is happening across the whole Cambrldge lewish community, as well as interesting artlcles and reports. In addition, an emall circular is sent out regularly to infonn and remind our members and others of forthcoming activities and event Our Burlal Society arranged 2 funerals and 2 stone settings.
