OBJECTNE AND AcnviTIES ObJ•ctl¥es and alms The objects state that the trustees shall hold the Trust Fund and its IrKome upon trust to apply for any purpose whlch15 charitable accordlng to the Law of England and Wales whether for the beneflt of any Individual or group of people or for the benefit of any other organisation established for charitsble purposes, provided always that the Trustees shall not apply the fund of any part thereof without first obtsiningthe approval of the Watford Lions Club CIO at a Lions Club meeting. The trustees have consldered the Charlty Commlssion's guidance on Public Benefit. The work of the charity gives rise to public benefit by supportlng other registered charltles wlth donation5 and grants. Volunteers The charity required approximatety 25(X) hours of voluntttrfs efforts In the year to carry out Its work. Previously the Club organised , Abbots Lan8ley Fireworks & Cassiobury fireworks, and also Sants Sleigh. The Abbots Lany Camlydl held in sumrner had to be ca￿elled. The Club contlnued to provlde support to many sectors ofcommunltles both locally and abroad from the funds raised by the Club. organisations that 5UPPOrt the sick. the young and the elderly. Various projects undertaken by Uons Districts and Lions International were supported by the Club to provide a551Stance during humanitsrian dbsasters. Donations made in the year are Shown in the accounts. It Is antlcipated that the aub will cortinue with its fundraising and service artivtties in the future to enable the Charity to achieve its objectives. We are therefore happy to rep(Yt that the trustees have considered the Charltty Commission5'5 guidance on publk benefft. We can confirm that these actlvities provide a public benefft because they support re8lStered charities by donations and grants. FINANCIAL REVIEW Reserves pollcy Funds raised as general donations are utilised to make donations. However where funds a￿ raised for specific projects or events these are identffied separately learmarkedl. and donated towards the relevant projects or events as required. Reserves at the year end therefore Indude fvnds that were raised as general donations that have not yet been used to make donations and fund5 that have been recelved but eamiarked for use on specific projects or events. Over and above any funds held that have been earmarked for specific projects and events it is the policy of the charity to maintain Some unrestricted resÈrves not committed or invested in tangible assets. This is in order to ensure that seed funding is avallable fr>r new projects to be started when necessary.
