Activities in Date order January 2021 to December 2021 

**Welcome Project** - City Retreat have been supporting numerous refugees in leicester to support and guide them on British Islamic life. We have helped them resettle into Leicester with social support through our weekly welcome events, gatherings for Eid, English classes counselling and support as required on a case by case basis 

**Food Distribution** - Over the covid lockdown period we reached out to over 600 of the most needy individuals each week throughout Leicester and distributed hot and cold food packs that were freshly cooked and delivered by our volunteers. 

**Ramadan 2021** - City Retreat has been hosting various Ramadan activities throughout the holy month. With Covid being a factor we opened up our space for daily Tarawih (Nightly) prayers in line with covid guidelines as well as engaging with the community with our social media platforms to fundraise and share daily and weekly reminders from our local scholars. 

**Eid 2021** - City Retreat hosted community Eid Prayers in May which accommodated for 2 prayer slots at different times, followed by an Eid breakfast gathering for the local community that was open to all. 

**Palestine Expo** - In support of the Palestinian cause, City Retreat hosted an event with various activities, displays, conversations and screenings to raise awareness in solidarity with Palestian. The event was open to all within the Leicester community. 

**Tea & Talk Women's Group** - We hosted a few coffee mornings for the women within our community to gather and have meaningful conversations, the sessions were run by our volunteers to help those who have been struggling mentally  over the lockdown period. 

**Junior Golf Coaching** -  City Retreat has been actively supporting the youth by offering sports and educational activities. The Junior Golf coaching is a collaboration with Humberstone Heights Golf course, where we offered a 5 week beginner golf session to the youth from ages of 7-18 years. 

**Climate Change Event -** In celebration of action on climate change nationwide the City Retreat alongside organisations such as TREC, Friends of the earth Leicester and Green Guardians Leicester we hosted an community event with leading local speakers, organisations, faith groups and leaders that addressed the ongoing impacts and challenges due to climate change. The event was open to the wider community of leicester with various activities for both the young and old to engage and take part in. 




**Habb ( Nutrition and Wellness advice) -** The City Retreat hosted a women's event in relation to those seeking nutrition advice and wellness techniques through interactive activities. The event was open to women young and old in the community. 

**Climate Justice -** City Retreat alongside organisations such as TREC, Friends of the earth Leicester and Green Guardians Leicester hosted another event later in the year to bring the community together for a food sale, and recycling activity in line with the action on climate crisis nationwide. 

**Friday Social 2021 -** Every end of the month City Retreat hosts a social gathering for the community of Leicester to gather with family and friends to enjoy food, whilst hosting various activities such as games, meet & greets with local influencers etc. We had about 30 people attend our gathering, which included new families to leicester. 

**Kids Tea Party 2021 -** During the December holidays City Retreat hosted an islamic kids event. The event incorporated a variety of activities such as storytelling, plays, and reflection sessions  that were open to ages of 4-11 years. Over 20 children were in attendance and were provided with lunch and snacks throughout the event. 

**Weekly Friday Prayers and Sermons** - In line with the Covid19 guidelines City Retreat hosted weekly Friday prayers and Sermons which were led by our local scholars and open to the community. These prayers accommodated those working in and around town centre with over 50 people attending. 

**Weekly Reconnect Circle -** Every Sunday City Retreat hosts reflective and educational islamic sessions that are led by our local scholars, the sessions are interactive with Q&A’s to engage the attendees. The sessions are open to all, with many of our attendees who are new to the faith or exploring the faith.

These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts. 

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with: 

the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities •  and with* preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014
