the PCC and the Diocese, are involved in
the inspection and assessment of the need
for essential repairs and applying for grants
to cover the cost of such repairs and the
long term maintenance of the Church.
The Quinquennial Inspection Report, in
2018 identified a number of areas of repair
to the Church and the adjoining Tower. A
further inspection was carried out in March
2020, to identify the more immediate and
essential repairs primarily to the Tower roof
and stonework.
Repairs have been carried out, to a valley
Gutter on the Nave roof and to a couple of
slates on the vestry roof. A small section of
Cast Iron guttering was also replaced.
Repairs to the Tower roof and walls will
require the erection of extensive scaffolding,
which together with materials and labour are
estimated to cost approximately £25,000.
The Friends of Garway Church are currently
working
with
the
Diocesan
Advisory
Committee (DAC) Secretary, and have
made a faculty application to facilitate
applying for grants to carry out the work.|

by the pandemic. This has led to the
loss of income from guided tours,

we have been actively advertising the
charities work and have received a
number of requests from organisations
wishing to visit the church and to be
given guided tours.
We are also actively working on future
fund raising activities and events in the
church

pursuing
grant

trustees who were appointed at the Annual
General Meeting (AGM), of the charity. The
charity trustees manage the affairs of the
CIO and may for that purpose exercise all
the powers of the CIO.

minimum, the remaining trustee or trustees
may act only to call a meeting of the charity
trustees or appoint a new charity trustee.
(b) During any one year the charity trustees
may appoint additional trustees up to a
maximum number of 12. The charity
trustees may not appoint any charity
trustee if as a result the number of charity
trustees would exceed the maximum.
(c) All trustees will stand down at the next
Annual General Meeting (AGM).
(1) Apart from the first charity trustees,
every trustee must be appointed by a
resolution passed at a properly convened
meeting of the charity trustees.
(2) Every trustee shall be appointed for a
term of one year.
(3) In selecting individuals for appointment
as charity trustees, the charity trustees
must have regard to the skills, knowledge
and experience needed for the effective
administration of the CIO.|
