|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The Friends of Garway Church working with<br>the PCC and the Diocese, are involved in<br>the inspection and assessment of the need<br>for essential repairs and applying for grants<br>to cover the cost of such repairs and the<br>long term maintenance of the Church.<br>The Quinquennial Inspection Report, in<br>2018 identified a number of areas of repair<br>to the Church and the adjoining Tower.  A<br>further inspection was carried out in March<br>2020, to identify the more immediate and<br>essential repairs primarily to the Tower roof<br>and stonework.<br>Repairs have been carried out, to a valley<br>Gutter on the Nave roof and to a couple of<br>slates on the vestry roof. A small section of<br>Cast Iron guttering was also replaced.<br>Repairs to the Tower roof and walls will<br>require the erection of extensive scaffolding,<br>which together with materials and labour are<br>estimated to cost approximately £25,000.<br>The Friends of Garway Church are currently<br>working<br>with<br>the<br>Diocesan<br>Advisory<br>Committee (DAC) Secretary, and have<br>made a faculty application to facilitate<br>applying for grants to carry out the work.|
