The New Normal (TNN) is managed by an executive board made up for first Trustees (James Sapwell, Benjamin May & Jack Baxter) who are overseen by the full board of Trustees. 

Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of two years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. 

In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

Our first year of operations was severely impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Our intentions had been to grow our in-person sessions across London and the South East, but with the pandemic preventing meeting in person, we quickly adopted an online model. 

This enabled us to offer our peer-to-peer grief and bereavement support sessions to young people across the UK and we were very quickly oversubscribed. As a result, we increased the regularity of these sessions to meet the demand. 

Restrictions meant that traditional support may not have been available to those seeking it and our services became an alternative for many. Grief and bereavement was very much in the public consciousness and we were acutely aware of the added issues arising from being bereaved during a pandemic and with restrictions in place. 

Our services were used by hundreds of beneficiaries from all across the UK Following feedback and requests from our services users we added a range of different sessions, providing safe spaces for the Black and Brown community & LGBTQ+ community,

and specific sessions for those whose grief has added complications and those who were bereaved during the pandemic. 

We also introduced specific sessions for Men and for Women to discuss their mental health, without a focus on grief. By the end of 2020 we were offering 37 separate sessions per month, up from 2 in person sessions per month at the start of the year. 

We had over 300 separate services users across 2020, and were pleased that many who attended a session went on to attend further sessions. 

Owing to our low cost base, the board made a conscious decision not to apply for grant funding or to publicly request donations during 2020. As such, fundraising was modest but more than covered the costs incurred and these are detailed below. 

## **Accounts** 

The attached accounts show receipts of £3,103.38 and expenditure of £917.41. The Charity has no debts and does not hold funds as a custodian trustee. 

These have been verified by Frederick Case & Mark Atkinson in their capacity as nonexecutive Trustees. 

The Charity has no paid employees
