Nepali Samaj Nottingham is a CIO established to support the Nepalese community through cultural, educational, social, and welfare activities. Trustees meet regularly to oversee planning, governance and delivery of community programmes. 

## **3. Objectives and Activities** 

The charity aims to advance education, relieve poverty and distress, promote health and wellbeing, and provide cultural and recreational activities for Nepalese people in Nottingham and surrounding areas. 

Public Benefit Statement: The trustees confirm all activities were carried out with due regard to Charity Commission public benefit guidance. 

## **4. Achievements and Performance (Events & Activities 2024–2025)** 

## **Nepali New Year Celebration – 15 April 2024 – Sherwood, Nottingham** 

Snapshot: A cultural celebration marking Nepalese New Year 2081. 

Nepali Samaj Nottingham organised its annual New Year celebration featuring music, dance and community gathering promoting unity and cultural pride. 

## **Nepalese Music & Dance Programme – 6 May 2024** 

Snapshot: A joyful cultural entertainment event. 

A music and dance programme held to support relaxation, joy and mental wellbeing among Nepalese community members. 

## **Spiritual Event – 27 May 2024 – Bhagwati Shakti Peeth, Nottingham** 

Snapshot: A spiritual mindfulness and prayer gathering. 



A spiritual programme offering rituals, prayers and mindfulness activities to support emotional wellbeing and spiritual connection. 

## **Second Nepali Mela – 12 August 2024 – Nottingham** 

Snapshot: A national-scale Nepalese cultural festival. 

A large Nepali Mela showcasing culture through performances, food stalls, exhibitions and sports with participants from across the UK. 

## **Teej Celebration – 6 September 2024 – Nottingham** 

Snapshot: A women-led cultural and religious festival. 

Nepalese women celebrated Teej with traditional songs, group dances and rituals to strengthen cultural identity and support emotional wellbeing. 

## **Deusi–Bhailo Programme – 30 October–2 November 2024** 

Snapshot: Traditional Tihar festive household visits. 

Volunteers visited homes performing spiritual singing and dancing, fostering cultural continuity and community bonding. 

## **International Women’s Day – 6 March 2024** 

Snapshot: A celebration of women’s empowerment. 

Nepali Samaj Nottingham celebrated women’s achievements with cultural activities and empowerment sessions. Trustees at the time were: Birendra Khadka, Ravindra Giri, Ram Prasad Panthee, Rana Bahadur K.C., and Ganga Dhakal. 

## **5. Financial Review** 

Financial statements for the period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 are attached separately as provided by the Treasurer. These include income, expenditure, reserves and notes to the accounts. 

## **6. Plans for Future Periods** 

The charity plans to strengthen cultural activities, expand youth engagement, enhance health and wellbeing initiatives, and continue supporting Nepalese families across Nottingham in 2025–2026.
