## Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31[st] December 2022 

The trustees present their report along with the financial statement and Independent Examiners report for the year ended 21[st] December 2022 

1. The name of the charity is **Chorley Evangelical Free Church.** 

2. The address of the charity is **Saint Georges Street, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 2AA.** 

3. The charity is governed by a new constitution adapted by the church members on the 4[th] December 2019 and recorded with the Charity commissioners. 

4. **The Charity Registration Number is 1187480** 

5. The objects of the Charity are: 

To advance the Christian faith primarily but not exclusively in Lancashire and surrounding 

area, in accordance with the doctrinal basis. 

To further such charitable purposes as the trustees may from time to time decide. 

6 The Trustees are appointed by the church as stipulated in the constitution. The current trustees are:Pastor Mark Bassett 

Mr Bernard Gooderham Mr Simeon Raby Mr Ephraim Thomas. 

7. The trustees receive no remuneration with the exception of Pastor Mark Bassett which is permitted for his employment as Church Pastor. 

8. All the trustees are involved in the day to day running of the charity using their different skills. 

9. The Independent Examiner’s Report on the accounts has been carried out by Paul Harrison, ACMA. 70, Hamilton Road Garswood, Ashton-in- Makerfield, Wigan, WN4 0SU. 

10. The charities bankers are HSBC. 

11 Statement of Trustees Responsibilities 

The Charities Commission requires the trustees to prepare financial statements that show a true and fair state of the charities financial position which we have sort to do, presenting figures clearly so our members can see how the charity is placed financially. 

12. Review of the Year. 

We have sort to maintain our weekly programme of Worship services at 10.30am (during this service we have a Sunday school for Children) and 6.30pm on Sunday, with a Bible study and Prayer meeting on Wednesday evening. A toddler group is run on a Thursday morning at 10.00am. Once a month we hold a Tuesday Lunch. Games evenings are held from time to time to introduce new people to the Church. A small number of Asylum seekers attend and we are trying to help with language translation where possible. All these activities are open to all to attend. 

13.   Insurance Policy Our policies have been reviewed during the year. 

14. Safeguarding 

All our volunteers and Trustees are subject to clearance through the Disclosure and Barring using the agency of Thirtyone:Eight. 

15. Investment Policy. 

The trustees have power to make investments in line with the agreed constitution, at the present time all monies are tied up in the day to day running of the charity. 

16. Voluntary Help 

The trustees are very appreciative of the generous support of the church members in terms of help both time and financial without which the charity could not function as it does. Signed on behalf of the Trustees of Chorley Evangelical Free Church.
