## **- Chirk Pre School Playgroup Annual Report 2021 2022.** I am very pleased to report another successful year for our Playgroup. Despite the constant challenges of numbers, finance and accommodation Llinos, Rosemary,Clare and Abbey have continued to provide high quality childcare for families in Chirk. Covid, whilst not so prevalent, has still left it’s impact on Children, staff and finances. However, the playgroup still has many successes to report and celebrate, not least being awarded a four year contract for Early Education provision in Chirk. This award, following a rigorous application process, affirms the quality of provision at playgroup. We are now the sole provider of Early Education in Chirk. As always, there have been a range of exciting learning activities enjoyed by children in the playgroup including; indoor, outdoor forest school as well as craft, building, music and social interaction. The group have been visited regularly by a link teacher from Wrexham early years team whose support has been invaluable. The new curriculum being developed in Wales, whilst very welcome, will bring additional training needs and create exciting opportunities. Playgroup has continued to ensure every child’s needs are met by early observation and identification. For those children who are not meeting their expected milestones additional support is requested from the Early years team. Families are also supported via strong links with other agencies including Health Visitors. The regular attendance of children is testament to how much the playgroup is enjoyed and appreciated. A parental questionnaire resulted in 100% satisfaction alongside some very special complimentary comments. Almost all parents also made the effort to attend join in and enjoy the “moving on” celebration. Parental support is both crucial and very much appreciated by staff and trustees. Playgroup is regularly challenged to raise funds just to continue to offer it’s excellent service so thanks to Llinos for her many grant applications and everyone who has supported our fund raising efforts at what has been a challenging economic time for all. There are always so many thanks to offer at the end of a successful year, not least to our dedicated, hard- working inspirational staff who are at the heart of our success, so ably led by Llinos’ superb management. Thanks also to all trustees for their continued voluntary contributions and support. The Playgroup wishes to thank Ysgol Y Waun for their continued support and use of their nursery classroom when the delays to our new childcare building resulted in the need to extend yet again, our use of school’s facilities.
