minorities face and experience daily.

activist5 and sharing trans and non-binary stories to upltft and demonstrate the support for our
trans communities from their allies. In a time when trans lives are10st each year due to hate.
it's more important than ever to educate the public and fight against discrimination to create
united communities that come together to fight for positive change. The campaign reached
over 7.000 people across our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media channels.
Other programmes: In addition to the campaigns and events Salford Prlde delivered in 2023,
the organisation also observed seven LGBTQ+ observance days such as Lesbian Day of Visibility,
Trans Day of Visibility or International Day Against Homophobia, utilising our social media
platforms to promote key information regarding these dates to promote our diverse

issues and discrimination that LGBTQ+ people experience daily to change attitudes, breakdown
stereotypes and stigma to create positive change.

our communities through education and understanding. Our charity also celebrated several
LGBTQ+ obseNance days to spotlight and champion the diverse communtties that make u p our

Financlal Review
During the period of 2023, the net funds raised from sponsorship, grants, fundraising, and
donations to fund the events and projects mentioned In thls report and to cover the charlt(es
annual core c05t5 wa5 £67,210.03, majortty of this Income was used in the current year.
Sponsorship was our largest source of income during 2023, the net funds raised from
sponsorship of events, including revenue from pitch fees, stall hire fees and beverage sales was
£3 1.380. Funding from sponsorship is not restricted and was used to help cover the charities
core costs.
Funding from donations was our second largest source of funding during 2023. The net Income
of funding from donations was £14,511.90. Funding from sponsorship is not restrirted and was
used to help cover the charitie5 core costs.
Grant funding was our third largest source of funding during January - December 2023. The net
income of funding from grants was £13,672.00 of which £11,672.00 was restricted funding and
£2,000.00 of unrestricted funding. These restrirted fLtnds had specific requirements on what
the fundlng could be spent on and was used for specific needs of the charity and was granted to
cover the costs of Specific programmes and activities delivered by our charty.
Our remaining income was made up of funding from fundraising activities. The net income from
fundraising was £7.345.82, this income came from fundraising activities, event revenue, event
ttcket sales and contributions from partners such as the Amazon Smile scheme and the Ralnbow
Lottery.
The charity has no funds which are materially In deficit.
Investment powers and pollcy
Majority of the Charit¢s funds are to be Spent in the short term within the 12 months of receipt
so the opportunities for longer term investment are limited. The Charity aim to maintain an
adequate level of reserve5 to ensure it can continue to provide the seNices of Salford Pride.
Reserves policy and going concern
The balance held in unrestricted reserves as of 31st December 2023 was £29,173 of which all
are free reserves, after allowing funds tied up in tangible fixed assets. The trustees aim to
maintain free reserves in unrestricted funds at a level which equates to approximately 36
months of unrestricted charitable expendrcure and or twenty-five percentage of the total cost
of our main project, The Pink Picnic if sufficient fL5nds are not ralsed within the following year to
prevent any cancellation. The Trustees consider that this level will provide sufficient funds to
respond to applications for grants and ensure that su pport and governance costs are covered.
The charivs main source of income is grants and sponsorship. The trustees consider that it is
approprlate to prepare the accounts on a going concern basis and, consequently, the accounts

SALFORD PRIDE
do not include any adjustments that would be necessary if these sources of incorne should
cease.
Rlsk management
The trustees conduct a review ever year of the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, and
systems and financial procedures Salford Pride have in place to mitigate those risks. Internal
control risks are minimised by the implementation of authorisation procedures for all transacti
ons and payments. Procedures are in place to ensure compliance with health and safety
requirements for staff, volunteers, and visitors.
Future Plans
Salford Pride aims to continue the delivery of our main project, The Pink Picnic and endeavours
to ensure the event is a cultural priority for the city for the benefit of the local LGBTQ+
community and to ensure that LGBTQ+ people have visibility and a voice in Salford. In addition,
5alford Pride will continue to develop projects to provide vital information and support to those
that need it within our city. Our aim is to research and develop a long-term project that will
tackle key disadvantages and provide or expand services that are missing in the Salford area.
