Welllngton and Dummer Rldlng for the Disabled Group Is an independent charity operating underthe umbrella, and with the support of RDA National Office. National Office provides no routine financlal support. Slgnlflcant Artlvltles The actlvities that contrlbute to the Charttvs aims are carried out at two locatlons: Paddock Lodge Farleigh Lane Dummer Basingstoke HampshSre RG25 2AF and Wellington Riding Heckfield Hook Hampshire RG27 OU and provide the means for people to ride at the level of their ability, choice and ambltlon. This Group does not provide carriage driving lessons. Paddock Lod8e is the home and property of one of the Group's Trustee/Coaches and the ridln8 facllStles are provlded rent free to the Group. Wellington Riding is a commercial stables and ridlng school which provided stabling for one of the group's ponies on a working livery basis and indoor riding facllltles for Group activities on payment of a small fee. Publlc Beneflts The Group has continued with the exlstlng format, keeping the hlghest possible standards to offer riding, dressage. groundwork. proficiency tests, endeavour awards and horse care tuition. The Group also supports a number of individuals seeking their Duke of Edinburgh Awards at bronze and silver levels. Page 2

A total of 740 personlsessions were delivered during the year. There remains a stron8 demand for places for riders and in order to increase availability, Saturday lessons at Dummer continue to be fortnightly to allow two groups of riders to alternate. Welllngton & Dummer RDA Group supports riders with a wide range physical and intellectual disabilities includin8 conditions such as autism, global learning delay, cerebral palsy, Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome, ADHD, Down Syndrome, partially sighted. transplant, Spina Bifida, Frasers Syndrome, Nemaline Myopathy, dyslexia, spastic paraparesis, myotonic dystrophy. The 8roup continues to support Hippotherapy sessions at Dummer. Hippotherapy 15 a form of physical therapy which uses the natural gait and movement of a horse to provide motor and sensory Input. Hlppotherapy can help with stren8thening and stretchin8 muscles and with balance. Three riders have benefitted from this activity this year. At the end of the reporting year the Group owns four ponies. Role and Contrlbutlon of Volunteers Wellington & Dummer RDA Group has no paid staff and 15 totally dependent on 4 volunteer coaches and an addltlonal 22 artive volunteers, thls Is a decrease of 5 actlve volunteers compared with the year 2023-2024. Durin8 the reportln8 period the following long service milestones were reached by volunteers I x 15 years volunteering I x 10 years volunteering Charltable Artlvftles All our activities are undertaken to furtherour charitable purposes, as set out in our charitable objectives and aim5. Key Actlvftles End of Term parties were held in July and December which included the presentation of rider achievement certificates and volunteer long service certificates. A Training Day for volunteers was held before the start of the September term. Page 3

Alfie, was put to sleep by the veterinary surgeon. Sadly, he was diagnosed with cancer in April 2024. He was operated on, but rt unfortunately can back more aggressively at the end of 2024. Alfie had helped countless adults and children to learn to ride over the ten years he was with the group. FINANCIAL REVIEW The Income and Expenditure for the Period is attached at Annex A to this report. There has been a cash deficit of £3448.56 and an asset deficit of £7750.CM). The reduction in asset values has been caused by reassessment and depreciation of 8roup assets. The Statement of Assets {3113/20251 is attached at Annex B to this report. The Welllngton & Dummer RDA Group does not receive any grants or donations from Central or Local Government nor does it receive any regular contributions from RDA Headquarters. Riders are not charged for their lessons at Dummer, and although donatlons are requested. they are not compulsory, as the trustees wlsh the facilities to be available to all. Wellington Riding make a small charge for lessons carrled out at thelr facility and these char8es are passed on to the riders Involved. The Group is funded prlmarily by rider and other donations and by other fundralsin8. One of the Group's ponie5, Dude, is on loan at Sparsholt College Equine Centre. RecTUitment and appolntment of new trustees As set out In the constitution, the initial trustees were appointed by the AGM. As detailed in Clause 15151 of the constrtution, °the trustees may at anytime decide to appoint a new charity trustee". Durlng this reporting period no trustees were appointed or resigned. Page 4

Safeguarding The Group has a Safe8uardln8 Officer and a Safeguardln8 Pollry. All coaches hold Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service {DBS) certificates. All other volunteers either hold Enhanced DBS certlficates or are In the process of applyin8 for certificates. In line with the current DBS process, all DBS certificate holder subscribe to the online update sep4ice which ensures that all clearances are automatlcally kept up to date.
