Wellington and Dummer Rldlng for the Disabled Group is an independent chartty operating underthe umbrella, and with the sUPPOrt of RDA National Office. National Office provldes no routine financial support. Slgnlficant Actlvltles The activities that contribute to the Charitrfs aims are carried out at two locations: Paddock Lodge Farleigh Lane Dummer Basingstoke Hampshire RG25 2AF and Wellington Riding Heckfield Hook Hampshire RG27 OU and provide the means for people to ride at the level of their ability, choice and ambitlon. This Group does not provide carriage driving lessons. Paddock Lodge is the home and property of one of the Group's Trustee/Coa¢hes and the ridin8 facilities are provided rent free to the Group. Wellington Riding is a commercial stables and riding school which provided stabling for one of the group's ponies on a working livery basis and indoor ridin8 facilities for Group activities on payment of a small fee. Public Benefrts A total of 28 riders have been supported during the year 2021-2022. There remains a strong demand for places for riders and in order to increase availability after the Covid lockdown, Saturday lessons at Dummer are fortnightly to allow two groups of riders to alternate. Wellington & Dummer RDA Group supports riders wtth a wide range physical and intellectual disabilities including conditions such as autism. global learning delay, cerebral palsy, Ehlers- Page 2

Nemaline Myopathy, dyslexia, spastic paraparesis, myotonic dystrophy. At the end of the reportin8 year the Group owns six ponies. Covid-19 The Covid-19 pandemic had a huge impact on the operation of Wellington & Dummer RDA Group. Beyond the numerous national and local lockdowns and restrictions, theTrustees had to conduct a series of specific risk assessments to take into account the impact of operations which include volunteers in close proximity to physically and intellectually disabled rider5 who have a number of underlying medical conditions. The Group was closed to rlders from the start of lockdown until 15 September 2021- a total of 541 non-operational days. Role and Contrlbutlon of Volunteers Wellington & Dummer RDA Group has no paid staff and is totally dependent on 6 volunteer coaches and an additional 32 active volunteers. Lockdown placed an enormous addltlonal burden on a much smaller number of volunteers who had the job of looking after the ponies and maintaining the facilities to allow restart after the pandemic. Wellington and Dummer RDA Group owes them a huge debt of gratitude for 8iving up so much time in such difficult circumstances. During the reporting period the following long service milestones were reached by volunteers I x 20 years volunteerin8 I x 15 years volunteerin8 3 x 10 years volunteerin8 3 x 5 years volunteerin8 Charitable Activities All our activities are undertaken to further our charitable purposes. as set out in our charitable objectives and aims. Key Activities This has clearly been a very unusual year with the Group being closed for riding for the first six (spring & summer} months with all riding classe5 cancelled, a5 were the usual national and local events. Wellln on and Dummer Ridin ForThe Dlsabled Associa n Incor ratin Carria e Drivin Re rt of the Trustees for the Year Ended 31 March 2022 The RDA National Championships could not be held live in 2021-22 due to Covid restrictions, however, a virtual championship was held on 25 & 26 September 2021. with five Wellington & Dummer Group entrants, resulting in second places and one third place in the Arts & Crafts Classes. As part of the post Covid restart, first aid and safeguarding courses were held at Dummer along with trainingjrefresher sessions for all volunteers. FINANCIAL REVIEW The Income and Expenditure for the Period is attached at Annex A to thls report. There has been a deficit of £1,086.87; the Trustees consider this to be acceptable within the normal fluctuations of the charity and does not pose a risk to future viability. The Statement of Assets1311312022} is attached at Annex B to this report. The Wellington & Dummer RDA Group does not receive any grants or donations from Central or Local Government nor does it receive any re8ular contributions from RDA Headquarters. Riders are not charged for their lessons at Dummer, and afthough donations are requested, they are not compulsory, as the trustees wish the facilities to be available to all. Wellington Riding make a small charge for lessons carried out at their facility and these charges are passed on to the riders involved. The Group is funded primarily by rider and other donations and by otherfundraising. Durin8 the period 2021-22 there were two additional sources of income: A grant was received from RDA Headquarters for £5712 for the provision of a toilet next to the stables at Paddock Lodge. Sale of one of the Group's ponies. £351XI. STRucfuRE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing Document The charity is controlled by Tts governing document - Constitution of the Wellington and Dummer Riding for the Disabled Association Incorporating Carriage Driving (Charitable Incorporated Organisationl" approved bythe Wellington and Dummer Ridingforthe Disabled Group Annual General Meeting held on 14 December 2019. Safeguardlng The Group has a Safe8uardin8 Officer. a Safe8uarding Policy and that all coaches hold Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service IDBSI certificates. In line with the current DBS process. all DBS certificate holder subscribe to the online update service which ensures that all dearances are automatically kept up to date.
