accounts. Cylch Meithrin Bro Teifi provides early
years care and education of the
highest quality for children from two
years old to school age. We have 11
members of staff who provide an array
of activities and opportunities for the
children. Our priority is the happiness
of each child.
There is an opportunity for each child
to learn through play and develop to
their full potential in a happy and safe
environment.
We believe that play is fundamental to
the physic-al, emotional, linguistically,
social and intellectual development of
children. At the Cylch we ensure every
possible opportunity to learn through
play.
The Cylch Meithrin is managed by a
committee of parents, prospective
parents and members of the school.
About four members will be needed on
the committee and it will be necessary
to elect three chief officers. Committee
members are elected at the annual
general meeting and it would be
beneficial if all parents could attend.

We are not a profit making organisation and we pay staff wages, rent, repair and running costs including buying equipment through fees and organising fund raising activities. We are registered with Mudiad Meithrin and comply with their policies and guidelines. These policies can be viewed on the parent noticeboard in the lobby. The Cylch complies to Mudiad Meithrin’s accredited standards. The Cylch is working towards their silver star. The Cylch is registered and inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). We are a Flying Start Cylch and accept the 30 hour childcare scheme. At Cylch Meithrin Bro Teifi there are indoor and out-door areas of learning which are exciting, fun, stimulating and safe. We have our own outdoor area providing a sensory area, physical play, marking area and much more. Our team of staff plan carefully activities to encourage natural curiosity within the children to ensure that they are able to learn through direct experiences from real life scenarios. We go outside every day in all weather, therefore, please don’t dress your children in their best clothes. Sometimes, we will make a mess when we play. Bring coats/raincoats in cold/wet weather and sun hats/sun cream when it’s warm. The children have the opportunity to follow their own interests and ideas through play activities. There is evidence to show that learning can be more effective with children when these ideas have come form their own experiences. When planning specific focused activities to teach the children we keep this in mind. We also plan for learning activities that occur naturally during the term and we may also plan activities that include an element from a certain theme or topic e.g. ‘Colour and Sound’. Planning is shared with parents at the beginning of every term on our newsletter. During the planning phase of the activities we ensure that the activities develop the learning areas in the six desirable aspects. The Cylch Meithrin plans and organises a range of activities and experiences,

which provides your child with the
opportunity to develop in the 6 areas
of learning outlined in
the Foundation Phase, which are:
Language, Literacy and communication
skills
Mathematical Development
Personal and Social Development
Physical Development
Creative Development
Knowledge and Understanding of the
World
The children are offered a variety of
learning experiences and are able to
play with sand, dough, jigsaws, paint,
bikes, construction toys etc. There are
plenty of opportunities for listening to
stories, imaginative play and for
singing and dancing.
