In order to achleve the prfn¢ipal objective5. set aLx)ve, the charrty provides a variety of actlvities. Carnperyans and
caravan visit, by inwtatlon, rural villages, set up a mobilecaféand information hub inviting villagers to have refreshment5 and
chat with nelghbours and friends for a few hours. This fosters a sense of community and provides S￿n￿StIng to agencies
that will enable Indlvlduals to lead happier, healthier Ilves In theif own home5. RCC also rnanages 3 network ol activities in
yJbs Icalled"Meet up Mondays°l andcafes Icalledc-a-f*,'coffee andfriends evefjtsl. These are prem$eswillin& ona weekty
ba515. to open their doors and provi(le a place for isolated folk to rneet, chat and have 3 cup of tea or coffÈÈ and blscuits. A
further network iscalled More than a Shopwhich is managed by RCC and Involvesvillage shops in rural communtt1è5 providin8
small facllity for pÈople to meet and chat to othef5. These shops atso provlde information and signpostin8 that would
otherwlse bÈ missing within an ￿Olated locatlon. RCC also has a Comprehensive website enablSng rural individua15 and
communitles to access infomiation relevant to thern and also responds to specrflc clrcumstarKes affec￿n8 people
experlencing hardship (the RCC slow cookers appeal and Warm Spaces ini(iativel.
Athlev4ments and perfornian¢e
view of Activities
This year was 20th year of worklng to address the causes and syrnptom5 of rural isolation and loneline5S throughout
ffolk by promoting sockl Inclusion and the provlslon of advice. Throughout the year Ficc remained Inn¢)vatwe and flexlble
in our approach to what rernained a challenging tyme as we faced an ever-increasing demand for our servKes. We foctsssed
on delivering our constitutM)nal objecti¥es.
During thls rRriod, we made 479 villa8e ¥islts across the county and had 3 throughputto these vistts of 8,417 people.

Every RCC visit enables villages to offer re5ident5 empowerment, security, belonging and connectioTr and we try to enable
peopleto have increased confidence and generally Improved emotlonal. mental. and physlcal wellbelng. In 2023 we gave out
53 slow cookers, 22 warm bL8nkets and Changed 160 walklng stl¢k ferrules. We also distributed £IO.000 of GoveTnment
Hardship Fundin8.
In orderto rneet demand with increased utilisation of our caravan, we recruited another part-tlme Community Enga8emènt
Officer. We also 8ccepted that Wè WeTe out8rowin8 our present office arrangements and started the search for appropriate
premlses whlch provlded more space.
Through¢xJt the year we contlnued to work with our fvleetupmondays ne￿Ork and had 37 venuesthrougtrK)utthe year wf(h
conservative estimated throughput of 20,000 people.
Throughout the wlnter months. we continued our involvement in Warm Spaces lnitlat￿e across Sufiolk mapping and
SUPPDrtln8 308venues ècr0$5 the county.
lThtheyearoneo*thecarnpeNans suffered severe damage followin8a tyre-blowout whlch netrssltated replacln8 thevehlcle.
At the same time a second campervan wa5 Scheduled for replacement. This combination of events provided a significant
funding problem. We successfijlly raised funds to replace both, taking the opportUn￿tY to stsndardise Intemal layouts whKh
were MO￿ efficient and worked betterfor our Communty Engagement OKicers and visitors. We received a donation in kind
for the livery of each vehicle.
We held an extremety sucee55ful fundraising event in the summer to tnark our 201h yearand are grateful to Old Hall School
on Bu¢￿n&haM loi their gift of the venue. Funds raised at this event were put towards the purchase of the replacement
campervans.
We continued to have high level$ of activity to ensure our social presence was effective usin8 Facebook. Instagram, Twitter,
and community pages.
Throughouttheyearwe malntalned high levels of engagementwith funders. It wa$appa￿fitth￿tthe corn￿titIon forfunding
remains high and we remained focu55ed on fundraisin8 auwitles. We were supported by The National Lottery Cornmunity
Fund. together with Trusts. Fwndations and Service Level Agreements. as well as donations, and would Ilke to thank
everybodyfortheir supp0rtthroug￿)utthe year.
We would also like to thank CoffeeLlnk of Ipswich fortheircontlnued donatlons olfantastlc ctsffee,. and thank Helen Oldfield
of Affinity PR for her continued sUPPOrt. Once agèin, speclal thanks go to F￿ddle 6aythome-Hardy of Chrlstie ca￿ for his
support with our computer sy5tern.
In October rjur CEO was awarded an Honourary D(*torate from the UnNersrty of Suffolk recognition for her work in
add￿sSing loneliness and rural isolatlon.
In November RCC won a European Sock31 Servlces award for person-centred dellvery, travelling to Za8reb for the ceremony.
This was a recognition of our work and gave us an amazingopportunity to showcase what we do to a much wider aUd￿nce.
In 2023 no payments were rnadeto any ofthetfU5tsesotherthan re￿[pted expenses incuired whilst carryin8OUttheir duties
for RCC.

Efforts to attract funding will ￿main our focus and we will ensure we have a high profile with funding bodies and Local
