The trustees of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the period ended 30 June 2021. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).

Objectives and Activities

Objectives and aims

The principle objectives of the charity continue to be:

  1. The advancement of the Christian faith in any part of the world

  2. The preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through events hosted by the charity or other charities

  3. The relief of poverty, suffering and social deprivation in any part of the world

Public benefit

The charity trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers and duties.

Achievements and Performance

The charity has experienced significant growth since its establishment on 15 January 2020. We have focused primarily on hosting our events and services in the UK, namely our Evangelism Training School with total attendance of 450 delegates across both periods the course has been active. The 2020 Evangelism Training School had 200 delegates which was hosted a few days prior to the lockdown restrictions coming to effect on the 23 March 2020. It was held over one full day with a number of Pastors/leaders as well as the founders of the Charity (Evangelist Daniel & Tanya Chand) being the main speakers. The Evangelism Training School was a crucial training resource for Christians in the pandemic, which helped provide delegates materials on how to advance the Christian faith in unprecedented times.

The benefit of this course is to counter the statistics of depression, suicide and mental health heightening through the lockdown of the UK, by advancing the message of the Gospel that promotes stability, assurance and hope to the general public. In practical terms, we launched outreaches (officially named as the Evangelism Tour) across the United Kingdom and delegates of the Evangelism Training School could take part and put into practice the teachings they have learnt. The towns and cities where outreaches took place are listed below:

During these tours, we distributed free bibles, food parcels and gospel tracts in the inner-city areas to demonstrate and share the Gospel on the streets. And despite the recent challenges of the pandemic, we continued to join hands and partner with several local churches including W5 in Northampton, Lighthouse Ministry in Brixton, Victory Gospel Church in Southampton and Eternity Church in Croydon to connect new converts with pastors, and increase our support to the homeless and make a real difference in local communities. Whilst all delegates

will have received certification with the one-day Evangelism Training School, it is envisaged that the course will be extended to 12-month and 24-month curriculum to provide in-depth evangelism training to delegates.

We also met a significant milestone for the charity as we began to programme our new series ‘Walking Like Jesus’ on air on Trinity Broadcasting Ministries United Kingdom (TBN UK). The series promoted biblical teachings and Christian values in a contemporary setting which was aired to over 26 million homes and over 10 prisons. The benefits of this new series benefitted the general public, by promoting Christian ethics through teaching and preaching, giving people the opportunity to respond to the Gospel, and providing tools and techniques on how to share their faith in their sphere of influence. We also received many testimonials of viewers being encouraged, inspired and uplifted by the series. Please see some testimonials below:

The Tent Revival was the largest event that Walking Like Jesus Ministries held in 2020. The event was extremely supported by local pastors, churches and ministries who endorsed the vision to host 10 nights of services that the wider community could access for free. More needed to be done to support those that were hurting, depressed and lonely during the pandemic, especially for Christians who couldn’t meet or gather in person due to the restrictions of church meetings. Given the magnitude event at heightened times and unprecedented pressures caused by the pandemic, we worked extensively with the local council, police and other safety advisory group members to ensure the event was executed in a safe, secure and effective manner. We also had several committed resources and volunteers (over 30 in total) to help deliver the event with the founder of the charity as the main speakers.

Approximately, 500 people attended the outdoor event each night with a peak of up to 1,000 on the weekends in comparison to the quieter mid-week services. The make-up of the attendees were predominately families and children, however, there was a mix of people from different nationalities, denominations and all walks of life that came to the services. The services were also livestreamed which provided exposure to our services across the world, with thousands tuning in each day. We also worked with TV stations where a number of our services, media content and materials were uploaded and played on GOD TV and other platforms to advance the Christian faith through the sermon messages globally. The Tent Revival greatly increased our local, national and global presence as a result of the uniqueness, scale and timing of the event. The footprint, resource and financial outlook of the charity has

now expanded which has enabled greater focus on addressing needs within local, national and global communities.

We received significant support from our partners following this event, wherein a stage trailer was donated to the charity. It was envisioned that the stage trailer would be multi-purposed for outreach, evangelism and worship, increasing our presence within local communities during outreach-focused activities. We sought an external design and construction company to renovate the stage trailer so it could be safely and effectively used during outreaches across the UK. The renovations are currently underway and we expect the project to be complete toward the end of next period.

We also hosted a 3-day event in West Sussex to advance the Christian faith and reach local and national communities during the festive time of Christmas. Approximately, 300 people attended the services across the 3 days and the main speakers were the founders of the Charity. We worked closely with West Sussex’s Safety Advisory Group to enable the services to be delivered safely to mitigate impacts from the covid-19 pandemic.

As the UK went into another lockdown in the beginning of 2021, it was agreed that the charity would increase activity and awareness of our work. Our founders were invited to a ministers training conference, and it was agreed to proceed with this opportunity to maintain momentum and build awareness of our charity. The training conference also enabled the charity to broaden its scope, reach a global audience and advance the Christian faith overseas. The conference also enabled connections to be established between our founders and pastors/leaders in attendance which led to further visibility after accepting invitations to speak at the River Church Baltimore, Maryland; V1 Church, in New Jersey and other local ministries in the North East of the USA. The Board of Trustees fully supported this opportunity and agreed that expenses such as travel (e.g. car hire), and accommodation would be covered by the charity as our founders travelled to minister. To branch out and connect with other Pastors/leaders in the North East of the USA that shared the same vision to reach local communities, advance the Christian faith and help reduce and eradicate crime in such areas was an opportunity that greatly benefitted the charity and the wider general public.

In particular, an evangelical outreach in Baltimore was co-lead by Evangelist Daniel Chand and Pastor Tony Carpenter of River Church Baltimore. The outreach was purposed to advance the Christian faith in the inner-city areas of Baltimore, predominantly one of the most hostile/high crime environments within the USA. Yet the outreach which lasted for half a day encompassed giving out free resources, Bibles and providing pastoral support to socially deprived communities. We managed to connect over 1,000 individuals to local churches and gain the support they need to leave gang culture, knife crime and violence behind. Following the outreach, we have continued to build on our relationship with River Church Baltimore and support them financially to provide extended outreaches and support to the general public.

Overall, the global work had great benefits such as expanding our audience, creating more networks internationally and our founders gaining insightful ministerial experience.

In May 2021, the charity launched weekly services which were open initially to partners, volunteers and supporters of Walking Like Jesus Ministries. These services were held every Sunday at 4 PM at the Chrysalis Theatre in Milton Keynes. Approximately, 100 people on average are in attendance each week which offers vital fellowship and discipleship to congregants. The founders of the charity are the senior leaders of the weekly services and oversee discipleship programmes, livestreaming of services and children’s ministry. In particular, we have been able to host several activities including face painting and arts and crafts to help children engage with Christian teaching.

Future Work

The charity continues to grow financially through our evangelical and ministerial activities. Since we have successfully launched regular services, hosted evangelical events and increased our media presence, our vision for the next few periods is to acquire a building. This would become the headquarters of the charity which would have a multi-faceted purpose that are:

Our current predictions show that we would need to raise £2.75 million pounds for this type of building. Our fundraising activities for this initiative are primarily driven through online broadcasts and social media channels to acquire this level of funding.

Reasons for holding zero reserves

The charity has recently been registered in January 2020 so there has not been a need to hold reserves at present. Our trustees will monitor the financials of the charity and decide whether reserves will need to be held in the next fiscal period.

Explanation of any uncertainties about the charity continuing as a going concern

The charity has a large demand for its services but has a small team of staff and volunteers. Further resources and capable of staff/volunteers is therefore required to perform charitable activities to an exceptional standard. The board of trustees will continue monitor the level of activity of the charity and shall make informed decisions to acquire new resources through detailed checks and a formal interview process as appropriate.

Assets held

The charity is the owner of a people carrier/van which was donated to the organisation and enables the transportation of our equipment, resources and other products that the charity owns to run its activities.

The charity is also the owner of an SUV which was brought in October 2020 for the organisation to travel to meetings, events and other ministerial engagements.

The charity is controlled by its governing document, the Charitable Incorporated Organisation Foundation Constitution.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity (“the Trust”) for the period ended 30 June 2021.
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
(“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
